Bat Mitzvah at Temple Beth Am / Pinecrest
On Saturday May 11th, 2013 Lyndsey celebrated her Bat Mitzvah at Temple Beth Am in Pinecrest.
It was a beautiful afternoon affair.
The guests entered the room to upbeat music supplied by DJ Keith. We were doing a 2 man show.
I instructed the family to stay out of the room until we did the grand entrance.
When I introduced the family, I started off with Mom and Dad. They entered with "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. I then introduced sister Lexy to "Girls Just w\Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper.
After that Alyx, the brother was brought into the room with "Piano Man" by Billy Joel.
Now the guest of honor was ready to make her entrance. I played "Get On Your feet" by Gloria Estefan. The place erupted in applause. They were happy to see Lyndsey.
This party was very special for me. I have done ALL of the children's Mitzvahs for Brad and Laura Jacobs and Lyndsey is the last one. A little bittersweet but happy as well.
After the intros, I invited Lyndsey to start the candlelighting ceremony. 13 very special people came up to light candles. From dance teachers, Aunts, Uncles, Close Friends, Grandparents and of course Mom and Dad. They walked up to " One way or Another" by One direction.
Lyndsey lit the 13th candle herself. We played "Isn't she Lovely" by Stevie Wonder.
I then instructed the family to help her blow out the candles.
Now Dad and Lyndsey danced the first dance. " My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw.
I then invited all of the guests for the Celebration Hora!
At that point, we kept dancing them until lunch was served.
After lunch, we were instructed to keep the music very current for the kids. All of the top 40 hits were played including One direction and Pitbull.
