On Saturday, October 29, 2022 I had the honor of DJing Dan and Swetha's Two Year Anniversary Party and Vow Renewal Ceremony on board the Catalina Yacht. Dan and Swetha were married back in 2020 during the pandemic so they did not get the party they wanted. Now the year is 2022 and it is time to celebrate! The weather was absolutely perfect with the sun shining and a nice breeze in the air. Swetha was lovely in her white dress and walked down the aisle to the Instrumental Version of Christina Perri's A Thousand Years which was the same song played at her wedding. After they were pronounced Husband and Wife (Again) everybody cheered and they walked back down the aisle to Smash Mouth's "I'm A Believer". I transitioned into Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and cocktail hour began. During cocktail hour guests take in the beautiful views of the Ft Lauderdale Intercoastal Waterway, home to many famous people. I played Island Music from Kygo and Bob Marley to set the atmosphere. I mixed some classic wedding songs from Natalie Cole with Elton John and also some newer music. The guests were having a great time and I always make sure the volume and music style is right. When it is time for the bridal party to be introduced all the guests come downstairs. The bridal party lines up and walks down the stairs as I introduce them! Dan and Swetha chose Beyonce's Crazy in Love to walk into and when I introduced them they got a standing ovation! They were not sure if they wanted a first dance since they already did one at their wedding in 2020 but I suggested they do it and they were glad they did. They danced to Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". During dinner I turn the volume down so guests can have good conversation. Both the bride's parents spoke and I provide a wireless mic for speeches and toasts. Swetha's Dad was especially fun and entertaining! So was Dan's Mom! After dinner it was time to dance and I got everybody up to the floor with the Block and Crown Mix of I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. There are so many remixes of classic dance floor packers that keep the original feel of the song just add a more modern beat. My playlist included Kelis - Milkshake, Usher - Yeah, Beyonce - Break My Soul, Kenny Loggins - Footloose, Donna Summer - Hot Stuff (Kygo Mix), and Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Somebody. The dance floor stayed packed! For slower songs I was happy to play by request from the Bride and Groom Israel Kamakawiwoole - Over the Rainbow, Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl and Ben E. King - Stand By Me. Since we are in South Florida I also threw on some Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Farruko and the Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber version of Despacito. Also Romeo Santos - Propuesta Incendente and Don Omar - Danza Kaduro. The night ended to Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes - Time of My Life. Dan and Swetha are a wonderful couple and their families and friends are very kind and fun people and it was a pleasure to be part of their memories!
