Wedding and Reception at the Doubletree Hotel Ocean Point
Melissa and Derek Vankannel celebrated their dream wedding at the Double Tree Ocean Point in Sunny Isles, FL on 3/3/2017. The ceremony and cocktail hour were both held indoors because of the windy conditions outside. The happy couple still had a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean when they tied the knot. During the cocktail hour I decorated the ballroom with 24 tiffany colored, LED, wireless up-lights and dance floor lights along with our signature "Strike A Pose" photo booth all provided by Eddie B & Company. As all of the guests entered the ballroom I lined up the 17 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Melissa chose Enter Sandman by Metallica for the bridal party entrance and On Top Of The World by Imagine Dragons for her and Derek's entrance. The first dance was to Waiting For A Girl l Like You by Foreigner then Derek danced with his mom to Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney and Melissa danced with her dad to Forever Young by Rod Stewart. The toasts were given by Stephanie (maid of honor) and Chris (best man) then both dads gave welcoming speeches. All of the guests found their seats and the first of a 3 course meal was served. Melissa did provide me with a play list that included top 40, country, classic rock and 80s dance hits. This was a very energetic/fun dancing group that had the dance floor packed all night long. As the night progressed we had a cake cutting ceremony and the garter/bouquet toss and the photo booth, as always, was big hit. The closing song for the evening was Don't Stop Believing by Journey and that put a bow on a great Friday night wedding!! Congrats to Melissa, Derek and the entire Vankannel, Lay and Escalante families. Special thanks to the staff at the Double Tree for always providing excellent service.
