Wedding and Reception at the Grand Oaks Country Club

Nicki and Stephen Lucas were married on 3/23/2012 at Grand Oaks Country Club in Plantation FL on a beautiful Friday afternoon.  The outdoor ceremony for Nicki and Stephen took place on the golf course with a live violinist.  After the ceremony everyone made there way to the clubhouse for the cocktail hour which was held in and outdoors.  Nicki is a professional photographer and has worked with me on several events.  So she said "Ray do your thing and make everyone dance".  I played a mix of top 40, country, oldies and hip-hop for the after dinner dancing and smooth jazz for the cocktail hour.  The grand entrance music was chosen by Nicki which was Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO for the bridal party and Can A N***A Hit A Table Dance by Maestro for her and Stephen (private joke)!! They chose to do a mix of Crazy Love by Brian McNight, That's Just My Baby Daddy by 69 Boyz and I Just Call You Mine by Martina McBride as the first dance.  They also decided on no parents dances but Nicki did request a special song for her parents called Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion.  After the toasts everyone was treated to a two course dinner.  I did get the crowd to dance a bit before the main course just to get them ready for what was coming.  After dinner the party jumped into high gear as all of the guests got a chance to dance and party.  I did take a few requests for the Cha Cha Slide and the Electric Slide and also for some old school hip-hop.  It was a very high energy party mixed with a lot of drinking.  I'm surprised the Grand Oaks C.C. didn't run out of liquor.  As the night came to an end Nicki and Stephen thanked me for my music selection and for keeping the dance floor packed all night.  I had a great time  and thanked them for making me a part of their special day.  Special congrats to the Sterner and Lucas families and of course to Nicki and Stephen.  Party Rockers for life!! DJ Ray
