Wedding and Reception at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66

Posted: Jun 11, 2011

On Friday, June 10th, I played for a wedding at the Hyatt Regency-Pier 66 for Christina & Jeff Allard. It was a little different starting at 10 AM on a Friday morning, but 90 friends and family members were present to witness this marriage and celebrate the day with Christina & Jeff. We started with a ceremony preformed by Richard Witter in the "Windows On The Green" room. The entire bridal party walked to "Butterfly Waltz by Wedding Day Music, and Christina walked to "Here Comes The Bride" by The Royal Wedding Music Orchestra. For the sand ceremony, they selected "God Gave Me You" by David Barnes, and for the recessional it was "Smile" by Uncle Kracker. Then the party moved to the Pier Top on the 17th floor (what a view!) During the cocktail hour all of the guests were around the windows and out on the balcony enjoying the sights of the Ocean, Port Everglades, and Ft. Lauderdale! The party started with me introducing the entire bridal party to "Fortune Days" by The Glitch Mob, then it was "Shipping Up To Boston" by the Dropkick Murphys for Christina & Jeff! This brought everyone to their feet and the newlyweds were greeted with cheers, whistles, and screams. Their first dance was from a Disney Classic...."Beauty and the Beast". After three special toasts by Jeff's two best men Tory & David, and the matron of honor Rebecca, dinner/lunch was served and then I presented the parents dances. The father/daughter dance was "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman, and the mother/son dance was "Song For Mama" by Boyz II Men. I played a very heavy 80's/90's music format as requested by Jeff and Christina. The highlight of the afternoon was the garter/bouquet ceremony. Jeff and his 5 groomsman had a skit worked out to the song "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson. As Christina sat nervously in the middle of the dance floor wondering where Jeff went, I started the song and the groomsmen did a routine from the video (dressed in tails, spats, and gangster hats). Then Jeff emerged as the hero, and fought off the bad guys (groomsmen) then made his way to remove the garter from Christina's leg! WOW and double WOW! The guests were screaming and cheering the whole time...well thought out guys, good job! They cut their cake to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard and the final two songs of the afternoon were "Unchained Melody"  and "We Are Family". Since it was an afternoon wedding and it was 4 PM, the party continued poolside. Christina & Jeff are taking a 7 day cruise on the "Allure Of The Seas" Royal Carribean Cruises for their honeymoon. I want to mention one more thing about this wedding Jeff was so into planning everything with Christina it was amazing. Thank you for making me part of this fun and memorable afternoon....DJ/MC Eddie B!!
