Wedding and Reception at the Parkland Country Club

Brian and Pamela Balaguera were married on 8/11/2012 at the very beautiful Parkland Country Club. The ceremony was set to take place outdoors on the lawn by the fountain. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and it had to be moved indoors. I was impressed by how fast the staff at Parkland C.C. put together the ceremony indoors in such a short time, Chuppah and all!! After the ceremony everyone was directed to the main bar for cocktail hour as Brian and Pam posed for more pictures. As the cocktail hour ended everyone was invited to the grand ballroom for the grand entrance. The 17 member bridal party was lined up and ready to enter to We Found Love by Rihanna. Brian and Pam entered to I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas. The place sounded like a football game as all of the 130 guests cheered Brian and Pam on. The first dance was Heaven by Brian Adams then in Jewish tradition everyone was invited to the dance floor for the Hora. After the blessing of the Challah by Mark Gotlieb, there were a select few who gave very special toasts. The best men (Preston and Brandon), the maid of honor (Kristi), Brian's friend (Billy) and both dad's (Stanley and Michael). During the first course Pam and her dad danced to What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. Brian then joined in by dancing with Pam's mom (nice touch Brian) and his dad's fiance Patty. The main course consisted of 3 different food stations and for dessert a huge candy bar table. Pam, Brian and all of the guests were ready to rock after the meals. I was not provided with a top song list because Pam and Brian trust my judgment for the music to be played. It was a mixed crowd from 20 to 60 year olds. I played a mix of top 40, classic rock, oldies, and 80's and 90's dance hits. It worked perfect as everyone got a chance to dance. The highlight of the evening was watching Brian grab the mic and jump on top of my speaker to sing Living on A Prayer by Bon Jovi. Another highlight was when Brian was going to remove the garter from Pam's leg and he danced to the Ravishing Rick Rude theme song (PRICELESS)!! After the cake cutting and the garter/bouquet toss the dancing continued to the end. The last song for the evening was New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. Brian is a die-hard Mets and Jets fan and most of the guests were originally from NY. Congrats to Brian and Pam Balaguera and to the entire D'Alo and Balaguera families. This was by far one of the best weddings I have had the pleasure to DJ.  I can't say enough about the staff and management at the Parkland C.C. Their professionalism and special touches put a smile on every brides face.  DJ Ray
