Wedding & Reception at the Riverside Hotel

Good Day Wedding bloggers! DJ Gregg is at it again, with the latest installment of the Wedding Blog. On Saturday, I had the privilege to be the DJ for Eric and Emily on their wedding day!

The  ceremony and reception was held at the historic Riverside Hotel in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. I really enjoy working at this location. The patio views are endless and the staff is wonderful! For the ceremony, the guests gathered along the New River. As they were waiting, I played some NEO Classical music from the 2Cellos. Soon the ceremony began and the groomsmen walked down the aisle. Then the bridesmaids entered. I played "Beethoven's 5th Secret" by the Piano Guys. Then Emily walked down the aisle to "Canon in D" by Pachabel. The ceremony was short and sweet, as was the kiss given by the newlyweds! We then proceeded to the hotel for the cocktail hour. The patio was comfortable and not very breezy. I played some cool sounds to set a nice tone of things to come.

As the guests entered the main dining room, it was illuminated with Amber up-lighting, and Signature Monogram GOBO provided by Eddie B & Company. It really made the room very warm and inviting. I was playing some background music with a great beat. I enjoy to see the guests dancing their way into the room. That is usually a sign of a great evening to come. And boy, was I correct!

Once the guests were settled in, I lined up the bridal party. I proceeded to play "Party Rock Anthem" for them to enter. Then I invited Emily and Eric to come in. They asked me to play "Can't Hold Us Back" by Mackelmore.  It was PERFECT! The room erupted with applause and they then proceeded to dance the first dance. "Say You won't Let Go" was requested. Once that ended, I invited Michael, the father of the bride , to say a few words. Then I invited Emily to dance with her dad. They asked me to play "Brown Eyed Girl". Then Eric asked his mom to dance their special song. I played "Simple Man" by Shinedown. Shortly after that I invited the guests to sit down for dinner.  I was asked to play some light music and standards. Typical wedding fare.

Shortly after that I asked Kerri and Dennis to say some special words on behalf of Emily and Eric. It was a real tribute to a wonderful couple. At this point, I mentioned to everyone that the photo booth was opened. It was provided by Eddie B & Company.

After dinner, I started with a slow song. It was exactly what the doctor ordered! The dance floor was full and we proceeded to keep it full for the rest of the evening. I was happy to say that this was a very diverse group. All ages welcome! so I played all different era's of music for everyone. And still, the dance floor stayed full!

After a while I asked Emily and Eric to cut the wedding cake. I played "Lucky" by Jason Mraz. Shortly after that I invited the guests back to the dance floor and we continued to dance the rest of the night.

I have to say that this was a great party with a great group of guests. It truly makes a difference when everyone wants to dance and have a good time.
