Wedding Reception at the Renaissance Hotel / Plantation

Here I am at the Renaissance hotel in Plantation, Saturday April, 8th about to start the reception for Richie and Erica’s Wedding! The two families are Spanish speaking and some do not speak any english so I say everything in Spanish first and then in English so that no one gets left behind. I lined up the bridal party right out side the grand ballroom  and introduced them to Bruno Mars, Uptown funk. As they enter the guests go wild! They then take their seats and it is time for Erica and Richie’s grand entrance. Once again I ask the guests to stand and make some noise  as the newlyweds enter to Justin Timberlakes, I Got This Feeling. As they enter to thunderous applause and joyful screaming they make their way to the dance floor for their First Dance. They chose Luis Fonsi, Llegaste tu. It was adorable. Following the first dance, there were some heart felt speeches and a blessing that I helped organize and present, so I announced to the guests in both languages Bon Apetit and Buen provecho! After dinner it was time to do the father/daughter and mother/son dances. Erica chose Hija, by Abraham Velasquez and Richie chose Te amo Mama by Marco Antonio Solis. After the dances it was time for the bouquet and garter toss. I got everyone together for both and after the tosses we all found out who the next newlyweds were going to be.   After the very fun and exciting tosses the time had come to cut the cake and then  on to the party! Even though this was an afternoon wedding, the atmosphere was festive and fun!. I played a mixture of Salsa, Merengue and Reggaeton until the very end and the guests were on the dance floor all afternoon! Erica and Richie did not give me the last dance song because they had changed it, so I improvised and the song I chose was perfect, All Of Me by John Legend. It was a big hit! In closing I would like to wish Richie and Erica the best and it was a pleasure and honor to play for them on their special day. DJ/MC Cristian

Wedding and Reception at The Renaissance Hotel / Boca Raton

Saturday eve October 17th at the Renaissance Hotel in Boca Raton Florida is where the celebration for Mike and Tami Connell was held in a beautiful setting with DJ Marc Evans and photo booth tech Jerry O. Cocktail hour was outside on the veranda by the pool area where the requested music was whatever I wanted, so I played a little bit of Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Billy Joel, Natalie Cole, Anita Baker and a few extra cocktail related songs to put the guests in the mood to party.

Once cocktails ended the main doors were open and I played some funky Buddha music as the guests danced into the main room that was highlighted in Amber LED up lights and a Gobo Monogram  of Mike and Tami’s name in lights on a backdrop behind where they would be seated. Eddie B & Company also provided an Open Air Photo booth that guests were able to take photos all night long and place them in an album where they can write a note to Tami and Mike as they received the album at the end of the evening.
The bridal party was introduced to Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake and then Tami and Mike walked into the main room as I hyped it up to ESPN Jock Jamz, Lets Get Ready to Rumble!!!!!!  Along with Tami and Mike the guests danced, screamed and shouted for the newlyweds as I edged them on… They then proceeded to the center of the dance floor for the first dance to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. Half way through I invited all the guests to join in and then we went into some Greek dancing as the guests threw money at Tami and Mike as the were gathered in the center of the circle with there parents and bridal party.
Once we concluded the Greek dancing, dad did a welcome speech and an uncle did the prayer as the salad and dinner were served as the Open Air Photo Booth was open. I played some funk, hip hop and other songs that had everyone and I mean everyone jamming all over the room as the bride smiled at me and gave me a thumbs up.
Following dinner the toasts were made and the father daughter dance was done to Butterfly Kisses, followed by the mother son dance to My Wish. Then I did a song, Wind Beneath My Wings and dedicated not to Mike’s Grandmother as all the guests joined in and then the Greek music continued and then we danced to The Cupid Shuffle, The Wobble, Nae Nae and many others that rocked.
The garter, bouquet and cake cutting were done to Build me up Buttercup, Where Dem Girls at, Right Round and My Pony. Then the groom and his boys did a choreographed routine that he and I had worked on the music for two weeks. The crowd and Tami Loved it.
Then the party got back on track with dance music, Shout, Mony Mony, Old Time Rock and Roll and even The Love Shack. Hip Hop and Top 40 dance music were a big hit with all the guests and the newlyweds.
The last song of the evening was Journeys, Don’t Stop Believing as everyone made it to the dance floor to join in the last dance with Tami and Mike. At the end Tami hugged, kissed and praised me for a job well done as she mentioned the Americans and the Greeks were musically fulfilled. Quinceanera at the Renaissance Hotel / Boca Raton

Delia and Luis Velez were the proud hosts of their beautiful daughter Jesenia’s Quinceanera at the Renaissance Hotel in Boca Raton, FL on 1/23/2015.  Approximately 120 close friends and family members were greeted as they entered the hotel at the cocktail hour.  All of the guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers as I played a mix of salsa classics.  Also during that hour, myself and DJ Jerry decorated the ballroom with 24 Royal Blue, LED, wireless up-lights, dance floor lights, a monogram with (Jesenia’s Quince) and our signature “Strike A Pose” photo booth all provided by Eddie B & Company.  As all of the guests entered the ballroom I lined up Jesenia and her court for the grand entrance.  The parents and grand parents entered to We Are Family by Sister Sledge, the court entered to Yeah 3x by Chris Brown and Jesenia entered to All Of The Lights by Rihanna and Kanye.  Jesenia danced with her dad to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw then both of her Uncles danced with her to My Wish by Rascal Flatts.  The birthday girl then took the time to thank everyone for attending with her own speech then Delia (mom) gave her own speech and wished her daughter a very happy birthday.  Most Quinces have a wedding feel to them and this one was right on cue.  After the main course the dance floor filled up quickly.  Jesenia did provide me with an extensive play list that included top 40, alternative, EDM, r&b, hip-hop, and latin.  It’s safe to say that everyone really enjoyed themselves and the way I mixed all of the genres.  We did pause to sing Happy Birthday to Jesenia and the cake was served as dessert along with a candy station.  Everyone danced until the end and as I played the closing song which was Last Dance by Donna Summer, all of the remaining guests gathered around Yesenia on the dance floor!!  Great way to end an amazing Quince!!  Congrats to Delia and Luis for raising an exceptional daughter and to Jesenia and her amazing family. Happy Birthday Jesenia and many more!!!

Wedding and Reception at the Renaissance Hotel / Plantation

Hello Bloggers

Kyle and Mary were married on May 4th at the Renaissance Hotel in Plantation. It is a beautiful venue and they do a first class presentation.
As the guests were gathering for the ceremony, I was playing traditional prelude music. Bach, Pachobel, Beethoven. As well as some special requests. “Flightless Bird” by Iron and Wine, “Sleeping at Last” by Turning Page, and “The Wedding Song” by Kenny G.
The bridal party walked to The Dixie Cups “Going to the Chapel”. Then Mary entered with an instrumental version of “From this Moment” by Shania Twain. She looked beautiful. After the ceremony, I played the theme from “Back to the Future: The Movie”.
As you probally guessed, they are big movie buffs. More on that later….
As the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, I kept it standard. I was instructed to play some Sinatra, Buble’, Bennett, and so on. It was a nice time to mingle.
Now it was time to invite all of the guests into the  main ballroom which was glowing with wireless LED Ruby Red up lights provided by Eddie B & Company. I was asked by Kyle and Mary to keep it upbeat. I played some “Down Tempo House” music. Very cool and smooth.
As I introduced the bridal party, I played “Danza Kuduro” by Don Omar. Then I played the “Star Wars Theme” for Kyle and Mary.
The place went crazy! As I mentioned before they are big movie buffs.
I then proceeded to play the first dance. “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri was chosen. After that, I played “Bless the Broken road” for the bridal party and all of the guests. It was a great start.
Now I invited the Maid of Honor and Best Man to do the special toasts and dedications. It was funny and touching.
During dinner I played contemporary and light music. Everything from “Beautiful” by James Blunt to “Africa” by Toto.
After dinner I played the parent dances “There you’ll Be” by Faith hill and “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts respectively.
Now it is time to party! I played music from all eras. Music like “Sexy and I Know it” by LMFAO as well as some disco. “I will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor worked great! I was able to keep the dance floor packed all evening long.
It was a great party!
