Wedding and Reception at Royal Fiesta

Lea and Frank Denson celebrated their dream wedding at Royal Fiesta Catering in Deerfield Beach, FL on 3/31/2017.  This amazing wedding began with an indoor ceremony on the first floor of the venue.  Approximately 100 close friends and family members witnessed the happy couple tie the knot and make it official with a big kiss.  They were all invited to the 2nd floor for the cocktail hour and reception immediately after the ceremony.  I played a mix of tropical/easy listening tunes while everyone mingled and while Lea and Frank posed for pictures.  When it was time for the reception to start I lined up the 10 member bridal party for the grand entrance.  Lea chose Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars for the bridal party entrance and Sugar by Maroon 5 for her and Frank’s entrance.  The first dance was to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran then Lea had a special dance with her son Nikolaus to My Wish by Rascal Flatts.  The maid of honor Deana and the matron of honor Jenn along with the best man Nat gave the best toasts I have heard in a long time.  How funny!!!  Lisa Eady gave the blessing of the meals then the 1st of a 3 course meal was served.  Lea did not provide me with a play list since I have DJed several events for her family.  She trusted my judgment when it came to the music choices.  I played a mix of top 40, latin favorites, r&b, hip-hop and 90s dance hits that evening and boy did everyone enjoy the mix of genres.  As the night progressed they had a garter/bouquet toss along with the cake cutting ceremony.   It was great to see some familiar faces and neighbors that night dancing the night away.  The closing songs for the evening were I Won’t Give Up by Jason Mraz and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye.  Perfect ending to a perfect wedding!!

Congrats to Lea, Frank and the entire Denson and Papantonatos families!!  This wedding was in honor of Lori and Nikolaus Papantonatos who were my neighbors for many years and will never be forgotten!  R.I.P. Nik and Lor.

Guests were seated for the ceremony as the wedding party walked  to “Everything I Do, I do For You” by Bryan Adams. Irina walked  to “A Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys. The recessional was to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. Cocktail hour was after to a mix of Latin Lounge/American tunes. The reception room opened up as guests were seated for the introduction of the newlyweds. I introduced the new Mr. & Mrs. Morales to “Happy” by Pharell. The first dance took place after to “Bless This Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. Irina danced with her father to “No Te Olvides” by Pepe Guerra. After a toast and the blessing of the meal ,I called out tables to the dinner buffet. When dinner was over the dance floor opened up with a great mix of Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, reggaton and Top 40 dance. We paused for the cutting of the cake & Garter removal/bouquet toss, then is was party time till the end. Best wishes to Livio & Irina. Thanks DJ/MC Roberto

Wedding Reception at Royal Fiesta

The Wedding Reception of Joseph and Vittoria Anania at Royal Fiesta in Deerfield Beach was attended by over 200 guests. I first provided music for the Cocktail Hour which was a balance of American Classics and Italian music. About 50% of the guests were from Italy or were of Italian decent, thus the accent on Italian music. Andrea Bocelli songs were enthusiastically received amongst other Italian songs. The reception then moved upstairs to the main ballroom where I introduced over 60 guests and then the Bride and Groom who danced to Ellie Golding’s Love Me Like You Do and Il Volo’s Grande Amore. There were numerous special dances and dedications throughout the evening. The guests had the dance floor packed almost all night right to the very end at 1AM. Eddie B & Company also provided LED up lights, LED dance floor lights, Photo Booth, and 55″ LED TV’s for all of the montage’s that were shown. DJ/MC John Terry

Wedding Reception at Royal Fiesta

On Saturday, October 18th, 2014 I had the honor of DJ/MCing Patrick and Brandy Varones’ reception at the beautiful Royal Fiesta. As guests arrived for the cocktail hour, I played a mixture of classical, string and piano medleys. As the cocktail hour was concluding, I assembled the bridal party, bride and groom for introductions. The bride requested that I play the 2011 ESPN College Game Day song w/ Big and Rich during their introductions.  As I introduced each of them, they danced their way into the reception hall. After the introductions, the Bride’s Father, Patrick Ward delivered a beautiful prayer and toast. After the introductions and prayer, we began dinner service. I slowly transitioned from a mixture of classical, strings and piano medleys into some of the more relaxed music from the Bride’s reception playlist. During dinner service, the Best Man and Maid of Honor delivered toasts and warm wishes to the Bride and Groom. As the guests finished up eating, I announced that it was time for the first dances. Per the brides request, she danced with her Father first to the song Zoe Jane, by Staind.  Following the Father/Daughter dance, Patrick and his Mother danced to Because You Loved Me, by Celine Dion. After, the bride requested to do the first dance with the groom to Over, by Blake Shelton. After the first dances, I announced that the dance floor was open and invited all the guests out for dancing.  The floor filled within a few minutes and erupted with excitement as each song dropped. Later in the evening, I announced that it was time for the cake cutting and for all the guests to gather round for photos and encouragement to the song, Grow Old with You, by Adam Sandler. After they cleaned themselves up, I announced that it was time for the bouquet toss. As I dropped Single Ladies, by Beyonce, the bride waived and teased her bouquet around! The moment she threw it, every girl leaped in excitement and rushed to the bouquet. Since Patrick and Brandy were married in Vegas back in June and already did a garter toss, I decided to do something a little fun for them. Brandy hid the garter in my DJ booth earlier, so I got on the mic and said, “I’m really sorry to interrupt… But, I have a confession to make.  Back in June, I was in Vegas and crashed a wedding. Let’s just say things got out of hand and when I woke up, I had this garter.  I didn’t recognize you at first Patrick, but I think this is yours…”  The guests all had a good laugh and we then did the garter toss to the song Bad Boys, by Inner Circle. The rest of the evening was filled with a lot of dancing and smiles. I had a great time DJing/MCing the Varone Reception and would like to extend a thank you to the friendly staff at the Royal Fiesta. DJ/MC Eric Olsen

Wedding and Reception at Royal Fiesta Caterers

Patrick and Aliyah Shortsleeve celebrated their dream wedding at Royal Fiesta Caterers in Dearfield Beach, FL on 1/13/2013 with approximately 150 of their closest friends and family members.  This was another one of those wedding bashes that I will never forget.  The event began with the ceremony on the 2nd floor were Aliyah’s dad Mr. Fogel walked her down the isle to The Cider House Rule’s Main Theme.  They picked this song together and it was perfect.  Everyone was invited down to the first floor for the cocktail hour as the happy couple and the bridal party escaped to the beach for more pictures.  Soon after it was time for the grand entrance so all of the guests were directed back up to the second floor were they all found there tables and waited for the fireworks.  I lined up the 27 member bridal party and they entered to Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO then the bride and groom entered to I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas.  The room sounded like a football game after a home team touchdown!!! Amazing!! Aliyah and Patrick’s first dance was to Then by Brad Paisley and they decided to do the parents dances after the meals.  The toasts were given by the maid of honor and the best man then Aliyah’s dad made an excellent speech.  The blessing of the Challah was given by Grandpa Jack and Sim Jacobs.  A three course meal was ready to be served and the reception was underway.  Towards the end of the main course Aliyah danced with her dad to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw and Patrick danced with his mom to Just The Way You Are by Billy Joel.  And then in Jewish tradition we performed the Hora.  Aliyah wanted to recognize her grandma and grandpa by requesting the Anniversary Waltz by Al Jolson.  They celebrated their 70th Anniversary on the same day so I invited all of the married couples to the dance floor to join grandpa and grandma.  It was a very touching moment.  Aliyah and Patrick did not provide me with a play list because they trust my judgment when it comes to the music selection.  I played a mix of top 40, funk, classic rock, disco, dance music and classic hip-hop.  It was great to see how everyone enjoyed the mix of music and how Aliyah’s dad danced to almost every single song.  Incredible!!!!!!  Towards the end of the evening the happy couple cut the wedding cake and performed the garter/bouquet toss.  This great wedding came to a close with Good Riddance by Green Day as the last song.  Congrats to Aliyah, Patrick and the entire Shortsleeve and Fogel families.  Have a great time on your honeymoon in Mexico.  Don’t drink the water!!  A special thanks to the management and staff at Royal Fiesta.  Great service never gets old!!!  Thanks for your professionalism. DJ Ray

Wedding and Reception at Royal Fiesta Caterers

On Friday December 21st, 2012 I played for Melanie and Walter Walser at Royal Fiesta Caterers in Deerfield Beach. They exchanged vows in front of seventy family members and friends and joined them in a fun celebration with food, drink, and music. Melanie walked to “From This Moment” by Shania Twain and when they were prounced husband and wife I played “I’m A Believer” by Smash Mouth! I introduced the newlyweds to “a Barry White classic “You’re The First, The Last, My Everything”. Their first dance was “Always and Forever” by Heatwave. Since Walter is a big fan of R&B I reached back to the 70’s & 80’s and mixed in Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Commodores, Chaka Khan, Ohio Players, and George Benson just to name a few. Later they cut the cake to “That’s Amore” and Walter removed the garter to “Let’s Get It On”, while Melanie tossed her bouquet to “Single Ladies”. I also mixed in some of the popular club hits and a few line dances to keep all age groups dancing. We ended the evening with “Closing Time” by Semisonic. Thank you Melanie & Walter and Merry Christmas to you and yours! DJ/MC Eddie B!

Wedding and Reception at Royal Fiesta Caterers

On Sunday December 16th, 2012 I played for a wedding at the Royal Fiesta Caterers in Deerfield Beach. Mikhail and Rebecca exchanged their vows in the beautifully decorated room that looked as if we were in a forest. Along the floor leading to the altar were over 1200 white rose petals that were carefully arranged in a pattern. Our bride and groom had several selections from The Piano Guys to the delight of the guests as they waited for the entrance of the bridal party. The processional song “Will Be a Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys started with the entrance of the groom’s parents followed by the bridal party. The first Bridesmaid and Groomsman then shuffled the rose petals on the floor followed by the remainig bridesmaids and groomsmen. Then our Bride entered escorted by her Mom and Dad. During the Candle lighting ceremony “Arwen’s Vigil” The Piano Guys was played. When our couple was pronounced Husband and Wife, they walked out to Clark: “Trumpet Voluntary in D”. What a beautiful ceremony! The cocktail hour proceded the formal introduction of our couple.  First the parents of the bride and groom entered, then the bridal party, while “I Got a Feeling” was playing. Then the lovely couple entered to “Forever” Chris Brown. Mikhail and Rebecca selected “You Are The Best Thing” By Ray LaMontage for their first dance. Toasts were given by the Maid and Matron of honor; the Best man, and the bride’s father. The couple was surprised by special greetings from the groom’s uncle who was not able to attend, delivered by the groom’s mother. The biggest surprise for the bride was an audio recording of a song written and performed by the groom’s brother, who was not able to attend. Bring out the tissues! The fun started with the bridesmaids gathering in the center of the dance floor with our bride and “Some Nights” by F.U.N played while they all danced. The evening was filled with reggae selections such as Elephant Man “Willie Bounce” that had our groom and his groomsmen on the dance floor dancing up a storm to a well choreographed dance. The party continued and our guests danced to “Don’t Stop Til’ You Get Enough”; “I’m Sexy and I Know It”;  of course “Gangnam Style”; “Yeah 3X”; “Wonderful Tonight” and more. One more song that filled the entire dance floor was V.I.C. “The Wobble”.  We had a great evening and we ended with Michael Buble “Save the Last Dance for Me” Congratulations Mikhail and Rebecca – Mr. & Mrs. Mikhail Turner.  DJ/MC Handel Douglas

Wedding Reception at Royal Fiesta Caterers

Hello Bloggers! DJ Gregg with this weeks installment of the wedding Blog. Our story begins on Thursday June 28th, 2012, at the Royal Fiesta in Deerfield Beach. The bride and groom, as well as the rest of the guests came in from out of town. Michigan, to be exact! (That’s right, EVERYBODY). It was really great to see how much fun they had.   As the guests arrived, I kept the mood smooth and funky. cocktail and appetizers were served in the main room, so it was easy to keep the flow going. The Bride and Groom wanted to join them, So I did the introductions first. then they mingled for a while. Later on, I did the first dance. Bless the broken road, by Rascal Flats was the request. They danced it alone. I then invited all of the guests to dance Smile by Uncle Kracker. another great suggestion. At this time, the groom’s son, who was also the best man, said the champagne toast, and the brides father said a very touching blessing before the salads were served.   After dinner, I invited the Bride and Groom and their parents to dance the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance. they requested one song for both. Stand by me by Ben E. King was chosen. I then picked up the tempo and the party never stopped from there! I was all over the place in terms of music styles. There were people of all ages and everybody danced! It was a small event, only 36 people, but they danced all night!  We then did the cake cutting. They fed each other with style. (no messy faces here).   I also did a lot of audience participation dances. The Cha Cha slide, the Cupid Shuffle, Macarena and the Electric Slide per their request.  All in all it was a great, fun event!  They are going on a cruise for their honeymoon, so The last song played was Two tickets to Paradise by Eddie Money. Again a special request and a great way to end the party and start the honeymoon.  Good luck to Todd and Melanie!
