Wedding Reception at the “W” Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach
Courtney and Michael Maher celebrated their dream wedding at the W Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 4/8/2017. This wedding had it all!! It began with a beautiful outdoor ceremony over-looking the Atlantic Ocean on the 5th Floor terrace. After the ceremony all of the guests were invited to the cocktail hour on the same floor. They were greeted with drinks, appetizers and the live steel drum sounds of our very own Brian Henry. I decorated the ballroom with 24 royal blue colored, LED, wireless uplights, dance floor lights and a 55″ plasma screen for a father/daughter dance montage all provided by Eddie B & Company. As the guests filed into the ballroom I lined up the 24 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Courtney chose Bring ‘Em Out by T.I. for the bridal party intros and Bawitdaba by Kid Rock for her and Michael’s intros. The first dance was to No Man Is An Island by Jack’s Mannequin then Courtney danced with her dad to What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and Michael danced with his mom to The Perfect Fan by The Backstreet Boys. All of the approximate 100 guests found their seats and prepared for the toasts and speech. Nicole (maid of honor) and Greg (best man) gave the toasts then Courtney’s dad Mr. Sayers gave the welcoming speech. The 1st of a 3 course meal was served and the reception was in full swing. Michael did provide me with a short play list but left it up to me for the music selections for that evening. I played a mix of top 40, classic rock, alternative, country and 90s dance hits. What a great mix of genres for this fun/up-beat group. They filled the dance floor after the main course and barely stopped for a break. We did have the cake cutting ceremony and the bouquet toss (no garter) as the night progressed. The highlight of the evening was performing the Tarrantella in vintage Italian style!! PRICELESS!!
The closing song for the evening was Kiss From A Rose by Seal which was also a special request from Michael. Congrats to Courtney, Michael and the entire Maher, Sayers and Maloughney families!!
Special thanks to the staff at the W for their 5 star service as always!!
Wedding Reception at the W Hotel / Ft. Lauderdale
Antonella and Jonathan Berger celebrated their wedding at the W Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 2/27/2016. This amazing wedding began with an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The weather was perfect as the happy couple tied the knot and sealed their love with a big kiss. The cocktail hour followed so all of the guests were invited for drinks and appetizers while I played a mix of Rat Pack favorites. I also took the time to decorate the ballroom with 24 amber colored, LED, wireless up-lights, dance floor lights and two monograms all provided by Eddie B & Company. After the cocktail hour all of the 130 guests were invited into the ballroom for the grand entrance and reception. Everyone found their seats as I lined up the very excited 19 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Antonella chose Turn Down For What by Lil Jon for the bridal party entrance and Levels by Avicii for her and Jonathan’s entrance. The first dance was to Giving It All To You by Haley and Michaels then Antonella danced with her dad to Lauretta Mia by Enrico Musing and Jonathan danced with his mom to A Song For Mamma by Boyz II Men. The toasts were given by Jeanine (maid of honor) and Mark (best man), then Antonella’s dad Mr. Tuccillo and Jonathan’s dad Mr. Berger gave the welcoming speeches. All of the guests found their seats then the first of a 3 course meal was served. Antonella did provide me with a great play list that included top 40, freestyle, classic rock, hip-hop and 80’s dance hits. Great mix of genres for this fun and energetic group. I love when the dance floor is packed all night!! The only time we took a break was when the cake cutting and garter/bouquet toss were performed. Amazing night had by all and I’m glad I had a big part in that. The closing songs for the evening were Don’t Stop Believing by Journey and Falling In Love With You by Haley Reinhart. Congrats to Antonella, Jonathan and the entire Berger and Tuccillo families. Special thanks to the great staff at the W Hotel for their 5 Star service.
Wedding and Reception at the W Hotel / Ft. Lauderdale Beach
This wedding had the works!!! Dianys and Michael David Passell celebrated their dream wedding at the W Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 3/1/2015. The outdoor ceremony and the cocktail hour were held on the 5th floor of the hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on a beautiful Sunday late afternoon. The weather was perfect as our very own Rick Barone provided the live acoustic guitar sounds for the ceremony then played during the cocktail hour. I said this wedding had the works because Dianys and Michael also upgraded their wedding package and added up-lights, dance floor lights, our signature “Strike A Pose” photo booth and Zap shots all provided by Eddie B & Company. So when the guests came down to the 2nd floor for the reception in the ballroom they were greeted like movie stars. The bulbs were flashing and the stage was set for the grand entrance. Dianys and Michael entered the ballroom to the The Hitman by A.B.Logic then went right into their first dance which was Never Thought I Could Love by Dan Hill. All of the approximate 70 guests looked on as the happy couple kissed at the end of the song. Dianys’ dad Mr. Sardinas gave the blessing of the meals then everyone found their seats for a 3 course meal. Dianys did provide me with a great play list that included top 40, salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, 80’s and 90’s dance hits and country. It was a nice mix of genres for this particular group who dance all night. We did take a break to cut the cake and have a garter/bouquet toss before getting back to the dancing/fun. During the meals, Clifford (best man and Michael’s brother) did give a great toast and thanked everyone for attending. The last song for the evening was Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble and that put a cap on an amazing wedding!! Congrats to Dianys, Michael and the entire Passell and Sardinas families. Special thanks to the staff at the W Hotel for their excellent 5 star service…as always!
Wedding Reception at the W Hotel / Ft. Lauderdale Beach
Good Day DJ Blog readers!
DJ Gregg here with another installment for you.
This time, we go on a journey to the W hotel in Ft. Lauderdale on December 6th, 2014.
Meagan and Andrew chose Ft. Lauderdale to be their destination for the wedding. Being from Chicago, this was a very different atmosphere. I guess it is a little cold to do a wedding in Chicago in December 🙂
During the cocktail hour, I was asked to give the atmosphere a “South Beach” flavor. Done!!
Next we went to the main ballroom. It was decorated beautifully with up lights provided by Eddie B. and Company. The light purple color they requested was a perfect accent.
As the guests arrived, I played some great down tempo house music. Nothing over the top… Just a nice sound to tell everyone that we were in for a party!
When I introduced the Bride and Groom, the room erupted!
I then went into their first dance “Is this Love” by Bob Marley. After that I played “let’s stay together” by Al Green for all of the guests to dance. Since the dance floor was packed, I decided to pump it up and played “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. It went over great!
I could tell that this was gonna be a good night…
I then asked everyone to sit down and invited Diana the Maid of Honor to say a few words.
Dinner was then served. I played a lot of songs while they ate that were special requests from Meagan and Andrew. Artists like: Odesza, Amy Winehouse, Ingrid Michelson, The Lumineers, etc. Some great Indie vocals.
After dinner I did the parent dances. “Across the Universe” by the Beatles and “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King.
Now we get the party going!
I knew early on that this was a dancing crowd and they did not disappoint. I played a lot of Top 40 and new dance songs, as well as the classics and some oldies.
There was no garter or bouquet toss, but they cut the cake a fed each other while “Cut The Cake” by AWB played.
After that we got the party going again and I continued until the end of the night.
Another great party!!!
Corporate Party At The W Hotel / Ft. Lauderdale Beach
The Datamyx Company held their annual event on 1/24/2013 at the W Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale FL. It was a short 3 hour event where they enjoyed drinks and appetizers early on then sat down for dinner and feasted on 3 different food stations. Approximately 40 co-workers attended as they also enjoyed the view from the terrace as they mingled and posed for pictures with each other. Soon after the meal a few of the guests began to dance as I took a few requests for top 40, freestyle, club and dance music. At one point some of the ladies grabbed the mic and sang to I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. This was a fun, laid back group with great taste in music. Hope to see them again next year!!
