April 15th, 2011 I dj'd a surprise 40th birthday party on the Catalina Yacht/Sundream Yacht Charters in the Ft. Lauderdale intracoastal. As the guest boarded to an "Old Havana" theme party, I played a mix of island music along with old Latin music. The theme was Cuban so the yacht was decked out like old Havana, palm trees, cigars, a signing board of the birthday boy "Omar" playing the congas. The cake design was a small boat on the water. Everyone made there way to the top deck to yell "Surprise" with horns and streamers as he boarded with his wife "Marty" while I played "Fireworks" by Katy Perry. For cocktail hour a perfect mix of old salsa/merengue and oldies played to get the feel of Old Havana. For dinner all the guest had a great meal and enjoyed a "Roast" givien by some close family members and friends....too funny. After dinner it was "Party Time"...Latin music along with some 80's/90's and was the choice of music from the guests and birthday boy.Thumbs up to "Marty" for giving her husband a night to remember. Carol and the crew as always doing a great job on the yacht.Thanks....Roberto (D.J.Rob)
