On Friday June 6th, 2012 I played for a 50th anniversary party for Rolando and Soledad Silos and 130 friends and family members at the Del Ray Golf Club. In 2003 I provided entertainment for their daughter's wedding at the Spanish Monastery in North Miami. After a welcome cocktail reception I introduced the guests of honor and then for 30 minutes we passed the mic so anyone who wanted to say a few words, did so at this time. There were some memories re-visited and then a delicious stations buffet was enjoyed by all. After dinner it was 3 hours of non stop dancing. Rolando and Chol were ball room dancers along with about thirty of their guests. I played Rhumbas, Tangos, Cha Cha's, Sals and Merengue for everyone to show off their dancing skills. Then I mixed in the Top club hits and some fun line dances to bring the under 40 group to the dance floor. It was a night to remember for Rolando and Chol, as they celebrated with their family and friends. Later they cut their anniversary cake to "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing". The final song was "The Last Waltz". Thanks to Joy and her sisters for their help in planning this special event and hats off to Beth Mullen and her staff at the Del Ray Golf Club for another professional presentation. DJ/MC Eddie B!
