90th Birthday Celebration at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
Well, its not every day you get to see a 90 yr old woman light up the dance floor, but that is exactly what happened on Saturday evening.
Clara was celebrating he 90th birthday at the Hard Rock Hotel with 100 of her closest friends and family.
When I entered the room to set up, I noticed that this was not going to be a typical 90th birthday. There was a band setting up too!
The theme was "Hard Rock" and the room was decorated as such. There were pictures of Clara throughout her live adorning the walls and stage.I was able to fine out that the band that was scheduled to play after I finished was a Led Zeppelin tribute band!
As the guests arrived, I was instructed by Clara to play Italian songs and standards.
The birthday girl was introduced with "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. I was then told to play a few disco songs and bring it back to Italian and standards.
Dinner went very smoothly. Then Clara got up and thanked everyone for coming from near and far. We sang Happy Birthday and she blew out the candles.
After that played a lot of popular songs from the 60, and 70's.
The guests had a great time.
I then introduced the band call "LED HEAD". The guests had no idea what they were going to play. But when they started....well it went over great!
A really great time was had by all.
