On Saturday August 27th, 2011 I played for a 90th Birthday Party at the Quayside Towers Great House in North Miami. The guest of honor Mary Cerami and 70 friends and family members celebrated her milestone with dinner, dancing, and lots of laughs! Her daughter, Victoria started the evening with a heart warming toast about this wonderful lady. I started with classics from the 50's & 60's during the cocktail reception and dinner. Memory Lane is where I took everyone for the first 2 hours, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Dean Martin, Dion, Nat King Cole, The Righteous Brothers and many more. Then I got the dance floor rolling with Barry White, and from there it was the Disco Hits from the 70's & 80's, with some Classic Rock Tunes that kept them dancing all night long. I even mixed in some Black Eyed Peas and Pitbull for the hipsters. Mary was smiling all night long and she loves to dance, I couldn't believe her energy. Three weeks prior to this party Mary was a guest at a wedding I played at on August 6th. She came up to me and requested 2 Frank Sinatra songs, I played them both for her and then she asked me for a business card. I gladly gave her one and a few days later her daughter (on vacation in Montana), called me. Wow, it was a pleasure playing for Mary and all of her friends and family. God Bless you Mary, you are one of a kind! DJ/MC Eddie B!
