On Friday, November 12th, 2010 I played for Monai & Ryan Johnston, it was their bridal shower party at the Sunrise Soccer Hall. The party took a unusual and unexpected turn. Arriving at the hall I was greeted by Jackie (Monai's mother) and her grandparents (Meryl & Jack). Iwas told that the future newlyweds were in a car accident and are at the Coral Springs Hospital. Thank God they were OK and it was a matter of going through hospital procedure before being released. Over 100 guests showed up, starting at 7 PM and everyone was concerned and relieved when the good news was announced. After enjoying a delicious home made buffet, I got the dance floor moving to a varitety of Hip, Hop, Salsa, Top 40, Island Music, and retro hits from the 80's and 90's. When Monai & Ryan finally arrived (9:45 PM), I invited all the guests outside to greet them, as I played "I got a Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. Ryan took the microphone and thanked everyone for staying and how important it was to him and Monai. The day ended on a positve note and everyone is looking forward to their wedding date of December 17th, 2010.
