It was a great pleasure to DJ Adam's Bar Mitzvah at the Deja Blue in Parkland on November 20, 2021. The party began when I introduced Adam's mom and dad Andrea and Stephen, his brothers Nathan and Ryan and the man of the hour Adam to Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling". There were games set up including a hockey net since Adam and his friends are all on the hockey team. Adam's Grandpa Dudley presided over the Motzi and the Challah. After dinner, Adam called up his friends and family members, some in person and some via Zoom to light the traditional thirteen candles. For those who could not attend it was Kool and the Gang's "Celebration", for Adam's Grandparents Terry and Dudley it was Sinatra's "Fly to the Moon", for Aunt Ronnie it was "Footloose", for Uncle Paul and Aunt Tracy it was Grateful Dead's "Truckin", for Adam's cousins it was "We Are Family", for Grandma Margie and Grandpa Peter it was John Denver's "Country Roads", for Aunt Heather and Uncle John it was Bee Gee's "Stayin Alive", for Aunt Susan and Uncle Nino it was "Cotton Eyed Joe", for Adam's Brothers it was 50 Cent "In Da Club", for Adam's Aunts and Uncles and the rest of his friends it was "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "It's A Family Affair" by Sly and the Family Stone, Isley Brothers, "Shout" and "I Gotta Feeling" for Adam! Mazel Tov! After the candles were lit the guests enjoyed Dinner and then Adam cut the cake while I played "Hava Nagila" and other traditional songs. The party ended with dance music and some of Adam's friends were learning to scratch on my mixer. It was a fun event and I hope to DJ another event for this lovely family.
