Bar Mitzvah at the Cheeca Lodge and Spa / Islamorada

I DJed Miles's Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Cheeca Lodge and Spa in Islamorada. Cheeca just built an incredible new building on their resort where Miles's ceremony was. I provided a speaker and mic for the Rabbi and other speakers for MIles's ceremony. After the Bar Mitzvah was complete MIles got a round of applause and the guests headed down to the beach area where I was set up for the reception. Miles gave me a great spotify mix for dinner and dancing. I played his requests and filled in the blanks. Cocktail hour included Bob Marley, Luke Comes, Buena Vista Social Club, and Jack Johnson. The setup was beautiful with a grill positioned in front of the water. The breeze made for a perfect day. 

After cocktail hour the guests gathered around the dancefloor. The tent was lit up with blue uplights provided by Eddie B as well as swarm laser lights and a strobe facade for the full experience. I played Hava Nagila and Siman Tov Mazal Tov as Miles was held up on a chair to celebrate his Mitzvah and the guests circled around him in two circles going in opposite directions. Next, Miles's dad David welcomed the guests and we enjoyed grilled lobster. After dinner we danced the rest of the night as I played selections from Miles's list and took care of the rest. Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, the Bee Gees, 50 Cent, the Cupid Shuffle, the Conga, Mac Miller, Avicii, and my favorite Otto Knows - Million Voices kept this party rocking through the evening. I threw in a few slow songs so people could dance with their sweetheart. Congratulations to Miles and I wish him and his family the very best!
