Bat Mitzvah at the Fountains Country Club

Good Day Bloggers! DJ Gregg..... here with this weeks installment of the DJ Blog!

On Saturday DJ Elow and I had the pleasure to be the MC / DJ duo for the Bat Mitzvah of Lucy. It was held at the Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth. It is a very nice venue and overlooks the golf course. As the guests arrived, we were asked to play some top 40 tunes to set a tone of fun and excitement. This was a party that focused mostly on Lucy and her friends. After cocktail hour, the main room was opened. It was illuminated with light blue up-lights provided by Eddie B. & Company! DJ Elow kept a great groove going and played some upbeat music so the guests can dance their way into the room. Once the dance floor was filled up, I welcomed Lucy into the room. The grand entrance was awesome! We played "Shut Up and Dance" by Walk on The Moon. Everyone joined in and we kept the dance floor busy! Soon after that I asked everyone to make a circle and join in the celebration "Hora"! The floor was filled with friends and family. Lucy was lifted up in the chair as tradition dictates, then Brother Harry, and Sister Addie. I was really great to see all of the smiles on the faces of the guests. Shortly after that, I asked the guests to be seated and invited Aunt Bessie to say the traditional Motzie blessing of bread and Kiddish blessing of the wine.

Now dinner service is started. I also reminded the guests that the photo booth was opened. This too, was provided by Eddie B. & Company. DJ Elow kept it funky since the kids had a buffet and ate fairly quickly.

As I mentioned before, this was a party for Lucy, so we played a lot of new music. The dance floor was full with all of her friends! It was really great to see so many having a great time.

After dinner, I asked Lucy to step up so we can start the traditional candle lighting ceremony. All of her friends gathered on the dance floor as Lucy invited up special people in her life to help her light a candle. There were a total of 13 candles and the final candle was lit and explained by her parents. Shortly after that I asked the family to help Lucy blow out the candles. It was very touching.

Now Allen, Lucy's father, took the mic and made a very special toast. During this time, vodka shots were given to all of the adults and they toasted Lucy with a quick shot!

I then asked Allen to dance with his daughter. DJ Elow played "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. During the song, I asked all of the guests to join in. The next song was for everyone, and the party started up again! DJ Elow kept the kids on the dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG!

It was a great party and I wish Lucy a wonderful life!
