The American Institute of Architects celebrated a 2 hour event at The Breakers in Palm Beach on 7/20/2012. The event began with cocktails and appetizers on the patio area outside of the Beach Club ballroom. There were approximately 120 guests that were mingling and enjoying a mix of tropical, steel drum and oldies tunes. As the event progressed, Manuel who is the area president had a few words for the guests and thanked all of the sponsors for their support. There were two food stations that opened up for the guests. One was a pasta station and the other a meat station. The highlight of the evening included two ballroom dancers that were hired to entertain the guests. They provided me with 4 songs on a cd that I played for them as they performed the dances. They performed a tango, a waltz and 2 foxtrots. Everyone really seemed to enjoy the dances. This was an over 50 crowd that enjoyed dancing to the oldies specially to older salsas, rhumbas and cha chas. As the evening came to a close I was approached by some of the guests who thanked me for playing the music of their era. It was easy for me because I love and appreciate the oldies too!! Hope to see this group again next year. DJ Ray
