On Monday April 11th, 2011 I played on the Catalina Yacht/Sundream Yacht Charters for NAPA. Five yachts set sail between 6pm and 6:30pm from the Westin Diplomat Hotel with over 1200 guests from around the USA. Eddie B & Company had DJ/MC's on 3 of the boats. The atmosphere was relax and enjoy the sights, cocktails, and a delicious buffet. I stayed in the 60's, 70' and 80's with my music and played alot of finger poppin'/ toe tappin' songs, which my audience of 40 years and older could relate to and appreciate. Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffet, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Bruce Springsteen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Temptations, and many more. I had alot of guests from the mid-west so country tunes old & new were also part of the mix. After dinner the ladies got up and danced to classics like, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Love Shack, Respect, Brick House, & Billie Jean and then we got a little more modern with Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas. At the end of the charter one of the directors from NAPA asked me to play for them on their charter the next day (April 12th). I will let you know how that went tomorrow.
