A Memorable Wedding Celebration at Lakeside Terrace
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of DJing a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at the stunning Lakeside Terrace in Boca Raton. The day kicked off at 4:30 PM as guests began to arrive. To set the mood, I played a selection of serene pre-ceremony music that created a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The Ceremony
As the ceremony began, the processional was accompanied by a heartfelt instrumental version of “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys, beautifully arranged for cello and piano by the Brooklyn Duo. The bride made her entrance to “Here Comes My Girl” by Tom Petty, performed by VESISLAVA on cello. The ceremony was quaint and intimate, with every seat filled, as the officiant pronounced the couple, Kelly and Jared, as husband and wife. Their recessional song, “I’m a Believer” from the Shrek soundtrack, had everyone cheering with joy for the newlyweds!
Cocktail Hour
Following the ceremony, we transitioned to cocktail hour, where I mixed jazz house tunes with a selection of songs personally chosen by the bride. The lively atmosphere set the perfect tone for what was to come.
The Reception
After cocktails, I invited everyone into the main ballroom for the reception. The energy ramped up during the grand entrance. The bridesmaids entered to Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” followed by the groomsmen strutting in to “The Boys Are Back in Town” by Thin Lizzy. When it was time for Kelly and Jared to make their grand entrance, I encouraged the crowd to cheer and clap as they entered to Frank Sinatra’s classic, “I Love You, Baby.”
In a touching moment, I asked the couple to hold hands on the dance floor for their first dance. They had chosen a stunning saxophone cover of “When a Man Loves a Woman” by Angelo Torres, which was choreographed beautifully. The guests responded with enthusiastic applause and roses for the couple, making the moment all the more special.
Family Dances and Dinner
Next, Kelly shared a heartfelt dance with her father to “My Girl” by The Temptations, while Jared danced with his mother to “A Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men, starting with an instrumental version before transitioning to the vocals. After dinner was served, I played dance music to keep the energy high.
One unique element of the evening was a special take on table photography called "Foto Rush." I invited each table to the center of the dance floor for a photo with the bride and groom, creating a fun and engaging experience for everyone.
Dancing the Night Away
After dinner, the dance floor opened up, and the atmosphere transformed with disco lights. It was exhilarating to see everyone immediately get up and start dancing! The couple also had a cake-cutting ceremony, accompanied by Queen's “You’re My Best Friend,” followed by a lively bouquet toss to a clean version of “Girl Fight” featuring Big Boi and Lil Jon.
As the night began to wind down, we enjoyed several line dances before concluding with “They Long to Be Close to You” by The Carpenters. Finally, all the guests gathered outside for a sparkler send-off, accompanied by Carrie Underwood’s “Ever Ever After,” creating a magical farewell for the newlyweds.
Conclusion
It was a truly wonderful night filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. A huge thank you to Kelly and Jared for allowing me to be part of their special day, and a special shoutout to the Lakeside Terrace for their exceptional service. Congratulations to the happy couple! DJ Jerry O!
