On January 1st, 2011 I had the pleasure of playing for Melissa & Stewart Day and 60 happy guests from the midwest (Chicago area). A beach ceremony started the evening, and after surviving the night before (New Years Eve), these people danced for almost 4 hours under the stars at the historic Stranahan House. TCG, (The Catering Group) created a casual relaxed atmosphere along the Nu River, the buffet dinner served by Carolyn and her staff was De-Lish, and I enjoyed working with them. Melissa and Stewart danced to 'Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap, (different, but well done), and after a few toasts & dinner she danced with her father to "What a Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong, he with his mother to "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor. The music for most of the evening was modern club, with some classics & ballads mixed in. The sorority sisters from the University of Missouri, sang their sweet heart song to the newlyweds, then they cut their cake to "All You Need Is Love" by the Beatles. We closed the evening with "Save the Last Dance For Me" by Michael Buble. A quick note of interest about Melissa & Stewart. They met at tarpon bend on New Years Eve a few years ago.....Happy New Year & all the best....DJ/MC Eddie B!
