Valentina Velasquez celebrated her Quince on 6/3/2011 at the Bonaventure Town Center Club in Weston. It was a 4 hour affair with the first hour being a cocktail and appetizer hour. The guests consisted of 50% family and 50% friends from school. This was not your typical Quince. There was no intro, no crown, no shoes and no dances with mom or dad. But what there was alot of was dancing. Valentina provided me with a list of her style of music which I would describe as a mix of alternative/punk and classic rock. Everything from AC/DC and The Beatles to Surfer Blood and Tame Impala were played that night. Since Valentina's mom is Cuban and her dad is Columbian I mixed in some latin favorites also. Carina and Mario Velasquez (Valentina's mom and dad) were very gracious hosts. They set up the tables, chairs and the food before hand. After dinner Valentina along with family and friends cut the birthday cake as they all sang Happy Birthday to You. The song of the night was La Macarena!!!! Valentina's friends requested that song, twice!!! It was great to see everyone enjoy themselves for Valentina who is a very sweet young lady. Congrats to the Quinceanera!!
