Quinceanera Aboard the Sundream Yacht

The annual mass Quinceanera took place on July 17th, 2012 aboard the Sundream Yacht, and was once again successful and lots of fun.  Every year approximately 60-70 15 year olds from Paraguay along with chaperons make a trip down to S. Florida for a week.  The activities consist of parties at the beach, a trip to Disney and it is capped off by a gala event on the Sundream Yacht.  This was my fifth year working the event for the young ladies and every year so far it has gotten better and better.  They literally dance for 4 straight hours only stopping to have dinner for about a 1/2 hour.  There are always a few boys that also make the trip and they always are willing to help with the music selections.  The music that these kids listen to in their country is reggaeton mixed with cumbia-ton.  Its a mix of reggeaton with a cumbia background.  One of the boys had a few of their favorite songs on his phone so I played them through my system.  It is great to see so many young adults together having fun and not getting into trouble.  This group is very well behaved.  I am also thankful that every year they ask for the same DJ.  It's a great feeling to know that they trust me when it comes to playing their style of music.  Felicidades Quinceaneras...I will hopefully see the next group of 15 year olds next year!!DJ Ray
