I had the pleasure of DJing/MCing the Retirement Party for Glenda Rowley on the Sun Dream Yacht Saturday, January 16th. As the guests boarded the ship, it was obvious that this group wanted to get to dancing as soon as possible. Within minutes there was a good group of people already busting a move on the dance floor. For the cocktail hour and dinner, I played some lower key dance music from the 70s, through today. After dinner, everyone was eager to get back to dancing and the dance floor immediately filled with guests. As I ramped up my selection of music to a more up beat variety, the floor filled even more. As a surprise to the guests, there was a dance routine to the song Paradise By the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf. Glenda’s friends Dennis and Karen had the crowd roaring as they bounced around the dance floor to the song. A little later in the evening, I called out for all the ladies to join me on the dance floor and for the men to spectate as the girls danced and sang along to Girls just Wanna have Fun by Cindy Laupert. I had a wonderful time DJing for the Rowley family and thank you to the crew of the Sun Dream for hosting a wonderful event! DJ/MC Eric Olsen
