Good Day Blog readers!
I want to tell you about a great birthday party that I was the DJ for on Saturday May 25th. It was held at the
Doubletree Hotel in Sunny Isles. The view of the ocean from the venue is spectacular.
As the guests arrived for cocktail hour on the patio, I kept it light. Spanish guitar and light Jazz from Strunz and Farah, The Gipsy Kings and Michael Buble' kept the flow going.
Now we enter the main room.
Camal has no idea that he is going to his own birthday party.
He was invited to his friend Marcello's party. Little did he know that the party was for him. The guests waited anxiously for him to arrive. When I was told he was in the building, I turned off the music. As soon as he entered the room exploded with a big "Surprise"!
He was shocked.....He told me later on that it felt very surreal. Some of the people that were there had come in from all over the country.
He was very honored.
It was a predominately Latin Miami crowd. I was instructed to play mostly Salsa like Hector Lavoe, Fruko, and Oscar D' Leon.
As well as Merengue like Elvis Crespo, Fulanito, and Los Hermanos Rosario.
I even played Bachata, and Reggaeton. If you have ever been to a Latin event you realize that NO ONE SITS DOWN!
(I also played some American music for the few Gringos that were there too)
All in all it was a great time!
