Good Day Bloggers
On Saturday, May 12 , I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Emily and Peter's Wedding celebration.
It was held on board the beautiful Caprice Yacht.
As the guests boarded, I was asked to keep it light and classy. I played music from the Vitamin String Quartet. The ceremony was held on the top deck. After the boat left the dock, we drifted in the area known as the "Cove". This is where most of the weddings occur.
The bride was introduced with "Don't Stop Believing" by Electric Amadeus. The ceremony was performed by the captain flawlessly and ended with the honking of the ship's horn. A thunderous applause then ensued. I played "Don't Stop Believing" by Electric Amadeus for the exit song.
As Emily and Peter were taking pictures, the guests were invited to the lounge deck. There they had delicious appetizers and libations. I played some cool tunes mixed with some house, jazz, and standards. A very eclectic mix indeed!
The bride and groom were introduced with "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard playing. They then started their first dance. "Hymn for the Weekend" by ColdPlay was requested. I then asked Emily and Peter to invite their children out to continue the special parents dance. After that I asked the guests to go to the bow of the ship for a group photo, we then invited everyone downstairs for dinner. A delicious spread was waiting!
As soon as dinner was completed, the guests started to trickle back up to the lounge. I was waiting and ready to get the party going. We played music from all generations and tastes, but what worked the best were the typical wedding staples. You know, "Shout", "Mony Mony", Love Shack" etc.
It was a dancing group and we kept it moving throughout the night.
The cake was cut with "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison being played. I picked up the pace after that and we danced the rest of the night away.
The event was really a lot of fun!
