Played at a great wedding on Saturday 1/15/2011 aboard the Kathleen W out of the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hallandale Beach. The lucky couple was Rob and Liza Ruppel. The event started with a wedding ceremony performed by Dave MacDougall of "Sunshine Boating" on the top deck. The maid of honor walked to Cannon in D by Pachabel and the bride, with her dad walked to Some where over the Rainbow by Israel K. After the ceremony family & friends were invited to the first floor for the cocktail reception. Rob and Liza decided on a mix of tropical music (Marley, Buffet, etc). Rob and Liza were then introduced as husband & wife to all their guests for the first time and performed their first dance which was Faithfully by Journey. They wanted there guests to join them for the first dance half way through the song. Everyone was then invited to the second floor for a buffet dinner. Rob and Liza requested a mix of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Tony Bennett songs for dinner. The cake cutting ceremony and toasts were also presented on the second floor. All the guests were invited back to the first floor after dinner and the dancing continued. I played a very wide selection of music that Rob and Liza had chosen for the last hour. During that time we did the Anniversary dance. This is when all married couples are invited to the dance floor and as the song is playing I start narrowing down the group according to how many years they have been married . The last couple remaining on the dance floor were family members which was great (it worked out perfectly). We ended the night with Hit The Road Jack by Ray Charles. Great wedding and great guests. They really enjoyed themselves. I also worked with Tom Weber of "Smile Photography". The crew and staff aboard the K.W. were very accomodating and easy to work with! Congrats & Thanx DJ Ray
