Good Day Bloggers! DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the wedding blog. Today's episode brings us to the Deer Creek Country Club in Deerfield Beach for the wedding and reception of Nicole and Dwayne. I love working at this venue, the waterfall is spectacular as well as the room itself.
As the guests arrived for the ceremony, I was already set up and playing the prelude music. Nicole and Dwayne had requested some Neo-classical hits from the 2Cellos and Piano Guys. The day was a little steamy but there was a light breeze. I could feel that it was going to be a good evening. The vibe was really positive. The officiant walked down and then Dwayne. He looked rather dapper.. Then the ceremony began. first, the parents, and then the bridal party. I played "Pachebel's Canon in D Minor". Then Nicole came down the aisle to "Here Comes The Bride". She looked gorgeous!
The ceremony was fairly traditional with the exchange of vows followed up with the traditional kiss!
After the ceremony, I played music for the cocktail hour. I was asked to keep it light and happy. Dwayne and Nicole picked out some old school R&B sounds.
After the cocktail hour, I invited everyone into the main room.
It was aglow with beautiful lavender LED up lights provided by Eddie B & Company. I played some funky sounds to set the tone and to let everyone know that we were ready for a party! Since Nicole's family was from the Bahamas, we did things a little different. I was asked to take a back seat and allow Body, a close family friend to do the intros and to be the master of ceremonies. We lined the bridal party up in the other room and proceeded to introduce them. It was really fun to see them dance their way into the ballroom! Now the moment has arrived. Introducing Dwayne and Nicole was wonderful, especially because they walked in to "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce'. After that Body invited the best man and maid of honor to do the toasts. Soon after that, we served dinner. I kept the music light throughout. Once dinner was finished, Body invited Dwayne and Nicole to cut the cake. I played "How Sweet it is" by Marvin Gaye. We then transitioned into the first dance"On The Wings Of Love " by Jeffrey Osborne. Then we invited Nicole to dance with her dad. They chose "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. Soon after that I got the party started. As mentioned earlier, the majority of the guests were from the islands, so I was able to play a lot of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Calypso as well as some Latin and Hip Hop. I also played some old school R&B. This crowd was awesome! I was able to play a little of everything and they just kept dancing and dancing! In fact, the dance floor was packed all night! I love to see a crowd that is there because they really want to be...
As I mentioned earlier, this was a fun loving crowd and you can really see that they wanted to be there.
I wish Dwayne and Nicole a wonderful life together!
