Wedding and Reception Aboard the Caprice Yacht

Mickey and Ashley Smith celebrated their wedding on the Caprice Yacht on Saturday, November 13, 2021. The ceremony was held on the top deck where they walked down the aisle to "Can't Help Falling in Love" by UB40. Ashley told me her and Mickey love reggae so for cocktail hour I played a blazing fun mix of reggae and other hits. After all the guests made their way to the middle deck, I introduced the bridal party to Biggie's classic "Hypnotize" and then introduced Mr. and Mrs. Smith for the very first time to Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours". Ashley and Mickey's first dance was "Lover" by Taylor Swift, then Ashley danced with her father to Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" and Mickey danced with his mom to Rascal Flatts "My Wish". The Best Man, Alex gave an EPIC toast that had everybody laughing! Also Ashleys grandfather John and Mickey's father Mike gave toasts that brought tears to people's eyes. After a delicious dinner the guests came back upstairs for the cake cutting to Al Green's "Let's Stay Together". Many couples danced when I played this song. Then it was "Single Ladies" by Beyonce for the Bouquet toss which brought some very competitive single women to the dance floor who fought hard to catch the bouquet! Mickey did a great job taking the garter off Ashley to Marvin Gaye "Let's Get It On" after which I put on the classic "Hey Mickey!" and he threw the garter to one of his single friends who I think had come to the wedding with the lady who caught the bouquet! :) After that the guests were dancing on the middle deck and having a good time on the top deck and enjoying the perfect South Florida weather. The last dance was "One Love" by Bob Marley after which the guests lined up with sparklers for Ashley and Mickey to walk through as they left the boat. It was a joyous occasion! I hope they are having a blast in the Keys on their honeymoon and have a wonderful life together. The crew on the Caprice was excellent to work with as always and it was a great privilege to DJ the Smith's wedding! DJ Chris Nelson
