Good Day Wedding Bloggers! DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of your wedding blog...
On Saturday , I had the pleasure of hosting a great wedding aboard the Catalina Party Yacht.
Brian and Alanna were celebrating! Although they were technically already married (They eloped to Paris a few months back), this was the party that all of the family wanted!.
As the guests boarded, I kept the mood very upbeat and fun. I played some South Beach Vibe tones. The cocktail hour went over very well. When we left the dock, I invited the guests downstairs to the dining room for the Introductions of Brian and Alanna. I played a funky tune to get the crowd motivated and then I introduce Brian and Alanna. Their first dance "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney was played. I then invited Alanna to dance with her father. They chose "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor. I then asked them to take a seat. I invited Jack Lewis, Alanna's Dad to do a special toast. He welcomed everyone to the party and mentioned how happy he was to be here. I then asked Brian's dad Robert to say a few words. He also mentioned how happy he was and how much in love Brian and Alanna were. It was very touching.
Dinner service started shortly after that. I was asked to play standards and some light vocal. I also played some old school R&B as well as some Motown.
Brian and Alanna are old souls and truly love the classics of yesteryear!
After dinner we turned up the HEAT!
I played a lot of classic tunes, like Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones, Elton John and other classic rock. I also played newer tunes, like Bruno Mars and even some Latin favorites! as well as some Latin Favorites.
We were able to dance for the rest of the evening. No stopping for cake cutting or garter/bouquet toss. It was meant to be a great party for very special friends and family. DJ/MC Gregg
