This wedding I will remember forever! Michelle and Willem - Jan Derks celebrated their dream destination wedding at the Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada Keys, FL on 3/15/2015. Approximately 80 close friends and family members traveled to S. Florida from Holland and Chile for this marathon wedding. Like usual the staff at the Coconut Cove Resort was prepared for anything. So an 8 hour wedding became a 12 hour wedding by the time I played the closing song. The festivities began with a beautiful beach ceremony then the cocktail hour by the tiki bar. The dinner was buffet style and the first dance was also on the beach with a firework display surprise for all to enjoy. Michelle and Willem did provide me with a play list that included top 40, disco, tropical tunes, latin rock and alternative. Most of the requests that I took that evening were played by the guests phones through my system. The Dutch music and the Chilean music was the favorites for the evening!! The first dance was to Can't Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis Presley as all of the guests joined the happy couple on the beach. I also set up 12 amber colored, LED, up-lights to accent the palm trees around the dance floor tiki hut all provided by
Eddie B & Company. There were no parents dances or garter/bouquet toss but they did take the time to cut the cake and enjoy it with coffee. I played my last song at approximately 5:30 am (Monday) to complete the 12 hours that started at 5:30 pm (Sunday). It was the longest wedding any of us at Eddie B & Company have ever worked. I'm glad that I was the one who had the privilege to meet these fun folks and make them all happy! Congrats to Michelle, Willem and the entire Derks and Vidal families. Coconut Cove Resort...THE GREATEST WEDDING ON THE PLANET!!
