On Sunday, May 15th, 2011 I had the pleasure of playing for Sean and Catres Stanley at Galuppi's in Pompano Beach. This was a Carribean wedding, with 60 guests in attendence from the islands. Sean is originally from St. Croix, and Catres is from Virginia with island roots. The ceremony was held outside in a beautiful landscaped outdoor wedding chapel. The entire bridal party (including Catres) walked to "Love Is You" by Chrisette Michele. The recessional was "Never Knew I Needed" by Ne-Yo and Cassandra. After a cocktail reception of Jazz & Steel Drum music I introduced the bridal party to a classic by Spyro Gyra, "Morning Dance". Catres and Sean danced to "You'll Never Find" by Jah Cure for their first dance. Catres danced with her father to "My Girl" by the Temptations, and Sean and his mother to "Song For Mama" by Boyz II Men. After dinner I played some reggae tunes that Catres had given to me, but it was the old school Calypso & Socca that got the guests moving. Songs such as Tiny Winy, Dollar Wine, Ragga Ragga, Black Man Came Out To Party, and a few others. They cut their cake to "Is This Love" by Bob Marley, and then danced the night away. I want to thank Rachelle and her very attentive & friendly staff at Gallupi's for making my job enjoyable and I wish all the best to Catres and Sean, who will be living in paradise on the island of St. Croix.
