Jessica and Vladimir Basta celebrated their wedding at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale FL on 10/19/2012. For the first time in all of the years I have worked at Pier 66, the ceremony was held on the Pier Top. The 100 guests witnessed a beautiful ceremony with a clear view of the Atlantic Ocean. Vlad's parents were not able to attend so one of the grooms men set up a lap top and Skyped with Vlad's parents all the way in Croatia. After the ceremony everyone was directed to the first floor for the cocktail hour. The guests enjoyed a mix of tropical tunes while having appetizers and drinks. Soon after the cocktail hour everyone was invited back up to the Pier Top ballroom for the reception. As I lined up the bridal party you could feel the electricity in the air. The guests were so exited to see Vlad and Jessica enter the room. Well they got their wish. The parents entered to We Are Family by Sister Sledge, the bridal party entered to Hot Stepper by Ini Kamoze and the bride and groom entered to Let's Get Ready To Rumble. It was an amazing intro!! Vlad and Jessica made their way to the center of the room and danced their first dance which was No One by Alicia Keys. Jessica then danced with her dad to I Loved Her First by Heartland then with her step dad to Have I told You Lately That I Love You by Rod Stewart. Since Vlad's mom was not present he made a very nice gesture and danced with both his mother-in-law and his step mother-in-law to Wish For You by Faith Hill. There was not one dry eye in the house! The 2 bestmen and the maid of honor made the toasts then the first of three courses was served. Jessica and Vlad did provide me with a play list that consisted of top 40, old school hip-hop, r&b, disco, 70's, 80's and some great slow jams for the lovers. It was perfect for this crowd. After dinner the dancing got intense on the floor. They hardly took a break the entire night. Vlad and Jessica also supplied the guests with cigars so many of them headed out to the balcony for a smoke. The cake, anniversary dance and garter/bouquet toss were performed then it was back to the dance floor. I want to thank the family and friends of the happy couple for maintaining that great energy throughout the evening. They had an awesome time!! Congrats to Jessica and Vlad Basta you guys make a great couple! Like always the staff and management at Pier 66 did a fabulous job, 5 star all the way!!! DJ Ray
