Wedding and Reception at Jacaranda Country Club

Ilyssa and David Portney celebrated their wedding at the Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation, FL on 1/14/2023.  This fun wedding began with an outdoor ceremony at the gazebo.  Approximately 125 guests arrived to the club that Saturday early evening and were directed to the ceremony where Ilyssa and David made it official with a big kiss.  The cocktail hour took place in the club house bar and as all of the guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers, the happy couple posed for pictures.  I played a mix of yacht rock tunes while they all mingled then it was time for the grand entrance.  All of the guests made their way into the reception ballroom as I lined up the 6 member bridal party.  David chose Finale from Fiddler on the Roof for the bridal party and for him and Ilyssa's intro.  The first dance was to Reflecting Light by Sam Phillips then Ilyssa danced with her dad to Blackbird by The Beatles and David danced with his mom to You'll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins.  The plated dinner was ready to be served but not before both dads, Anna (best friend), Alex (MOH) and Mike (BM) gave the toasts.  Ilyssa and David did not provide me with a play list because they have seen me in action before and just asked that I have fun and to play to their guests.  The energy on the dance floor was contagious and as the evening progressed we did take a break for the cake cutting ceremony.  I took plenty of requests for some of the newer group dances and for and anniversary dance.  The closing song for the evening was Last Dance by Donna Summer as all of the remaining guests gathered on the dance floor with Ilyssa and David.
