Good Day bloggers!!!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the WEDDING BLOG....
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Andrew and Nina on their wedding day! The reception was held at the Jacaranda Country club in Plantation. This is a great venue, with panoramic views of a lake and the golf course.
Cocktail hour was held in the bar and the Steel Drummer (provided by Eddie B and Company) was playing all of the reggae hits. Soon after, everyone was asked to go to the main dining room.
While the guests were settling in, I played some funky tunes to set a cool mood for a great party.
To introduce the bridal party, I was asked to play" Shut up and dance" by Walk The Moon. Then Andrew and Nina entered with "Forever" by Chris Brown.
The room ignited with applause and everyone rose to their feet! I then asked Andrew to take Nina's hand and escort her to the center of the dance floor.
Their first dance was " I got You" by Jack Johnson. It went over perfectly! After a thunderous applause, I invited Nina to dance with her dad. They chose "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw.
After that, it was Andrew's turn to dance with his mom. "You'll Be In Mt Heart" by Phil Collins was a great request for them. During this song, I invited ALL of the guests to dance along with Andrew and his mom.
The dance floor was soon packed!
Afterwards, I invited the guests to take a quick break while Lauren, Stephen, and Kiki (the father of the bride) gave speeches and toasted the new couple.
Shortly after that, Uncle Roberto Soto invited everyone to bow their heads in prayer and to bless the meal that was about to be served.
Dinner went well, I played some special requests for Nina and Andrew.
As soon as dinner was over, I got the party started..
Everyone was ready to go! It was a really fun crowd and the dance floor was packed the entire evening.
I was able to play music from all genres and eras. The crowd especially liked top 40, classic rock, oldies, and Latin Music.
It was a pretty young crowd and everyone was having a great time.
I then invited our newlyweds to cut the cake... I played "Over The Rainbow" by Israel K.. Shortly after that I did the Bouquet toss. I played "Single Ladies" by Beyonce".
It went over great and it was a lot of fun.
Now, I got back into the party and we danced the rest of the evening!
It was a really great party and I wish Andrew and Nina wonderful life together!
