On Saturday May 26th, 2012. The view was amazing, the ceremony was elegant and the party was great! That's the way I want to describe the wedding I did for Brandon and Stephanie on Saturday. The wedding ceremony and reception was held at a private estate in Tequesta. It was nestled on the river and it was majestic. The view was spectacular! As the guests arrived they were invited to take a seat under the large tree where the ceremony was going to take place. Although it was a little humid and warm, the day was clear and bright! I played Bach "Air on G. String" for the bridal party and "Dvorak Romantic Pieces no. 1" for the Bride. Stephanie looked great! She was smiling from ear to ear. The ceremony was very touching with a beautiful reading and a great story from the pastor. As the ceremony came to a close, I played "Beautiful Day" by U2.Now its off to cocktail hour. I was instructed to play some modern rock and light vocal tunes by Matchbox 20, Incubus, Adele, Norah Jones, Jack Johnson and the like. It was a nice mix and a refreshing change from the norm. After the Bride and Groom were finished taking pictures, they joined the crowd for drinks. After this I opened up the area where the reception was going to be held. It was on a huge deck overlooking the river. A sand bar was situated about 1,000 feet off of the shore. It was an interesting site to see people standing out in the middle of the water. You don't see that everyday. As the guests sat down I kept it funky like I usually do. Again not over the top, but a cool sound for a warm evening. I introduced the bridal party and the B&G to "The way you make me feel" by Michael Jackson. This song was a request from the bride and groom. I immediately went into the first dance. "Better together" by Jack Johnson. They did a choreographed dance. It was very romantic. I then invited all of the guests up to "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt. It went over perfectly. I asked the Maid of Honor and Best Man to say a few words and the dinner was served. In between courses, I was instructed to open the floor up for words from the guests. A lot of great stories were told and very touching memories too. Everyone...and I mean EVERYONE asked the B&G when the babies were coming. They were quite embarrassed to say the least! Now that dinner was over, I opened the dance floor. At first it was a little slow. But after a minute or two, It got full and the rest of the night was a party! I played music from every genre and style. Another cool touch was the Hookah Bar that they has set up at the far end of the deck. A great place to hang out. Since it was hot out, A lot of liquids were being consumed....if you catch my drift. Lets just say that no one was feeling any pain! All in all, it was a really nice event and I wish Brandon and Stephanie a wonderful life together!DJ Gregg
