On Saturday, July 23rd,2011 I Played for Michelle and Kevin Duplaga and 130 guests at Royal Fiesta Caterers. The evening started with a ceremony on the 2nd floor. I played a selection of 8 songs Michelle had chosen for prelude music as guests arrived. Then the bridesmaids walked to Jesus, Joy of Man and Michelle chose Canon in D. For the recessional it was the Wedding March by Mendelssohn. Then everyone was invited downstairs for the cocktail reception for which I played a variety of Adult Contemporary tunes. Then family and friends were invited back upstairs for the reception. I introduced the bridal party to "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO and then Michelle and Kevin made their entrance to "Yeah Yeah Yeah" by Chris Brown. They also included a T-shirt toss to 2 dozen lucky guests, when the song said "Now everyone throw your hands in the air"....the bridal party threw out T-shirts specially made for the wedding. It went over BIG! When everything finally settled down "God Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts was their first dance. After 2 well thought out toasts by Andy (Best Man) and Heather (Maid of Honor) dinner was served and I took them down memory lane with a variety of music from all decades. Michelle danced to "My Girl" with her father, and Kevin danced to "My Wish" with his mother. Then the party started with 2 of the songs on the newlyweds request form, "Sweet Caroline" and "Hang On Sloopy" (Michelle is a graduate of Ohio State). This set the tempo for the rest of the evening. I had a very Festive group to work with this night. They danced to everything. Top 40 club, Hip Hop, Old School, Classic Rock, Motown & a few Disco tunes. Later Michelle and Kevin cut their cake to I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. We ended the evening with "Time Of My Life/Dirty Bit" by the B.E.P. and then I announced the after party which started at midnight at the Embassy Suites hotel on Deerfield Beach. I want to thank Michelle & Kevin for making me a part their special day, I enjoyed playing for them and they were a pleasure to work with the entire time leading up to the wedding. Have a great time in St. Lucia....DJ/MC Eddie B!
