Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the Wedding blog. On Friday I had the pleasure of being the DJ at Heather and Steven's wedding. It was held at the Grand Royal Fiesta in Deerfield Beach. This is a great venue and the service is excellent!
As the guests arrived to the ceremony, I played some classical music to set the mood.
Then the bride entered to Canon in D minor. The ceremony was officiated by Heather's aunt. It was very touching.
Cocktail hour was held in the main dining room. I played some South Beach style music to set a nice mood. The room was highlighted with amber LED up lights provided by Eddie B & Company.
They even had the "Magic Mirror" photo booth provided by Eddie B and manned by Jerry O. It went over great!!!!
After the cocktail hour, I lined the bridal party up and introduced them into the dining room. I was asked to use"Star Wars Theme" . Then Heather and Steven entered with "Something Just Like You" by the Chain Smokers.
I proceeded to ask them to go into the first dance "1,2,3,4 I Love You" by the Plain White T's. It worked perfectly. I then played the father/daughter dances for Heather's dad and Step Dad. They were "Forever Young" and "My Wish. Now Steven danced with his mom. "Have I told You Lately" was used. The champagne was poured and it was time to say a few words. First, Daniel the Best Man spoke and then Victoria, the Maid of Honor and Heather's daughter. Very touching and lots of fond memories..
During dinner I played some oldies, classic rock, and smooth tunes as requested by the bride and groom.
Once dinner was over, everyone was ripe to get out and party, so that is exactly what they did! I played a lot of 70's 80's and top 40 as requested by Heather and Steven. They are old souls and really loved the old tunes. It allowed all of the generations to get out and dance at the same time. In fact, the dance floor was packed all night long!!!!
We cut the cake with "How Sweet it is" by James Taylor. Then we did the garter and bouquet toss.
The couple who caught them were actually a couple and engaged to get married! I hope they are looking for a good DJ!!!!
After that we danced the rest of the evening. It was a lot of fun...
