Wedding Bloggers! Rejoice!
DJ Gregg is at it again with ANOTHER installment of the WEDDING BLOG.
This weeks journey takes us to the beautiful Anne Kolb Nature Center in Hollywood for the wedding and reception of Melissa and Jason.
The afternoon was perfect. The weatherman really did his job making sure that there was almost no breeze and cool temps in the 70's.
As the guests made their way into the courtyard, I was instructed to play some NeoClassical tunes by the Vitamin String Quartet.
Once everyone was settled in, the ceremony started. I played "Edelweiss" for the bridal party to enter. Then Melissa entered with "A Thousand Years" Piano version. This ceremony was very special and moving. You could really see the love in both Melissa and Jason's eyes as they read vows to each other. The ceremony was sealed with a kiss! I then proceed to play "Wouldn't it be nice" by The Beach Boys.
The Reception was held in the main ballroom. I played some cool standards to set a mood. It really looked great with Royal blue up lighting, provided by Eddie B. & Company.
Then I introduced Melissa and Jason into the room. The guests gave a thunderous applause!
I transitioned into their first dance..."Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. Then Melissa danced with her father. "Sweet Melissa" was appropriately chosen. Then Jason escorted his Aunt to the dance floor. At this time I was instructed to play an audio message from Jason's mom who passed on recently. It was really touching and not a dry eye in the room. I then proceeded to play "I hope you dance" By Leanne Womack. It went over perfectly.
Soon after that I invited The Maid of Honor, Dena and Best Man, Chris to come up and say a few words. Both were very touching and you can see that they were very happy that Melissa and Jason were able to find one another!
After that, the dinner service started. Again, I kept the mood fun and light.
After dinner is when things really heated up! These guys were party animals and ready to have a great time! I was happy to play their requested songs. Both Jason and Melissa are old souls and loved the classics! I mostly stayed in the 70' 80' and 90's. I dabbed a little in the new tunes but quickly went back to what they really loved!
I am happy to say that the dance floor was busy all evening long! A great party for a great couple.
Thanks again Melissa and Jason for letting me be a part of your special day!
