Wedding and Reception at the Beachcomber Resort / Pompano Beach
Ashley and Michael Flynn tied the knot on 11/17/2013 at the Beachcomber Resort in Pompano Beach FL. It was a perfect Sunday morning when Ashley walked down the isle with her dad to the Bridal Chorus by Wagner as approximately 92 close friends and family members looked on. The ceremony took place outdoors with the Atlantic Ocean as the background when they made their vows. All of the songs that Ashley chose for the ceremony were traditional. After the ceremony all of the guests were directed to the pool area for the cocktail hour. I played a mix of tropical tunes for the guests as they enjoyed drinks and appetizers. Ashley and Michael did provide me with a play list that included top 40, 80's and 90's dance, country, oldies and disco. When all of the guests were invited into the ballroom for the grand entrance and reception, I lined up the bridal party along with the happy couple. Ashley chose Raise Your Glass by Pink for the bridal party entrance and Marry You by Bruno Mars for her and Micheal's entrance. They danced to My Best Friend by Tim McGraw for the first dance then Ashley danced with her dad to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw then had me mix in Ms. Jackson by Outkast to surprise her dad. It got everyone going wild when they saw Mr. Metzel get down on the dance floor. Michael danced with his mom to I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston then the best men (J and J) and the maids of honor (Carrie and Jessica) gave the very funny but heartfelt toasts. Ashley's mom and dad gave the welcoming speeches and thanked all for attending that special day. The meal was a buffet style brunch so as all of the guests helped themselves to the food I played a mix of Rat Pack oldies. After brunch the dance floor got busy quickly!!! This group was so energetic and fun that it reminded me why I love my job so much. Every song I played was enjoyed and danced to by almost every guest. Even during the garter/bouquet toss and the cake cutting, there was barely room on the dance floor. I did take a few requests for some country music and more disco. Ashley's cousin Penny got the crowd going by dancing the Electric Slide to Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke. Amazing!! The last songs for the evening were Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble and Home by Sheryl Crow. For an afternoon wedding on a Sunday...this one was awesome!!! Congrats to Ashley, Michael and the entire Flynn, Metzel, Landrum, Hudson and Caridi families. Another great wedding at the Beachcomber!!! DJ Ray
