Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this installment of the WEDDING BLOG.
On January 4th I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Samantha and Jefter. They had their wedding and reception party at the Boca Pointe Country Club. This is a very nice venue overlooking the golf course!
The ceremony was held outside in the courtyard. It was a perfect afternoon. The rain had decided to stay away and a nice breeze set the tone. I played some NEO Classical songs during the prelude. Then the bridal party entered with "Love Never Fails" by Brandon Heath. Soon after, Samantha walked down the aisle to "I Get To Love You" by Ruelle. It was perfect! During the ceremony, a special song was played by a close family friend. It was touching.
Cocktails were served upstairs in the 2nd floor bar area. I played Brazilian Jazz per Jefter's request.
Soon after, I invited all of the guests to the main dining room. It was decorated beautifully and lit up with Amber LED Up Lights provided by Eddie B & Company. They also had a monogram gobo with their names shining on the dance floor. This was also provided by Eddie B. & Company. It looked great!
The introductions went flawlessly. I played "Let's Get It Started " by The Black Eyed Peas for the bridal party and then I used "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas for the entrance of Samantha and Jefter. The guests erupted with applause! Next I invited Samantha and Jefter to dance the first dance. "Speechless" by Dan & Shay was requested. Then Samantha danced with her Dad. They chose" "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw. I Then invited Jefter to dance with his Mother. They chose "That's What Mammas Do" by Jason Matthews. I soon invited all of the guests to join in. We finished the song with a full dance floor. I then played the traditions "Celebration HORA". Everyone was in a big circle while Samantha and Jefter were lifted in the chairs. It was perfect! I then asked all of the guests to find their seats. I invited Brianna and Elisa to do the toast and dedications.
Now dinner was served. I played some old school tunes, light rock, Brazilian Jazz and vocals. It went over great! I also mentioned to the guests that the photo booth was opened. It was manned by Jerry and provided by Eddie B. & Company.
After dinner we really got the party started! The dance floor was packed all evening. I was able to play all different styles and genres of music. It was a really well rounded group. Samantha and Jefter really enjoyed Top 40, 70's, 80's and 90's hits. The cake was cut using "Accidentally In Love" by Counting Crows as background music. Once the cake was cut, I asked all of Jefter's groomsmen to come up and help in the traditional Brazilian tie cutting ceremony. They then proceeded to go around the room and "Sell" pieces of Jefter's tie. A really fun experience!
I then asked Samantha to invite all of the single ladies to the dance floor for the Bouquet Toss. I played "Dear Future Husband" by Meghan Traynor to get them moving....
Shortly after that I picked up the pace again and got the party going!
A great time for them and a great experience for me!
