On Friday, June 3rd 2011 I played for Amy and Dustin Gatens at the historical Bonnet House in Ft. Lauderdale. The evening started with an outdoor ceremony by the old fountain surrounded by nature and 85 friends and family members. The bridal party walked to "1,2,3,4" by Plain White T's, and Amy made the stroll down the long path to "Marry Me" by Train. The recessional was "Say Hey (I Love You)" by Michael Franti & Spearhead. The party then moved up to the Bonnet house where guest enjoyed strolling this beautiful historic site while enjoying a cocktail reception in paradise. The swans on the lake and the tropical courtyard with parrots, are Kodak moments waiting to be captured! Once the guests were seated I introduced the bridal party to "Bring EM Out" by T.I. and everyone did a little booty shaking as they made their entrance. Amy and Dustin danced to "Smile" by Uncle Cracker for their first dance, and then Amy chose "I Loved Her First" for her father Mr. Jeff Reckard, and Dustin danced with his mother Kathy to "A Song For Mama". After a delicious buffet dinner prepared and presented by Egg Whites Catering (first class all the way), I started a 90 minute dance set playing everything from Bon Jovi, Pink, Queen, LMFAO, Coldplay,Lady Gaga, B.E.P., Usher, Ceelo, Journey, and DMX to Dion and the Temptations. This group came to party! Shots were flowing all night long. Later the newlyweds cut the cake to "Candyman" by Christina Aguilara and Amy tossed her bouquet to "Run The World" (Girls), by Beyonce. We ended the night with "Time of My Life" by the B.E.P. The couple are honeymooning in Barbados. Thank you Ay & Dustin, you and your guests truly know how to have a good time!......DJ/MC Eddie B!
