Wedding and Reception at the Broward Performing Arts Center

Hello Wedding Bloggers
DJ Gregg here again with this weeks installment of the wedding blog.

On Saturday November 8th, 2014, I was lucky enough to play at the new banquet facility at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

It is truly a state of the Art facility right in the heart of downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

The ceremony was held out on the rotunda. It overlooks the New River. It is very peaceful place and nice to see the boats going by.

The guests gathered for the prelude to the ceremony. I was asked to play the Vitamin String Quartet. They are a Neo Classical group that plays modern songs with a classical flare.

When the bridal party came down the aisle, I played Pachabel. Then Ashley came and I played the traditional Wedding chorus. She looked beautiful!

After the ceremony, I met the guests in the courtyard. I played some classic Rock, light vocals and country, per the request of the bride and groom.

We then proceeded to open the main room. It looked gorgeous! It was decorated beautifully and accented with Cyan Blue LED up lights provided by Eddie B and Company.

I played some great "South Beach" music to set the mood. I love to see people bopping their heads and shaking as they enter the room.

I can tell it will be a great evening!

I introduced the bridal party to "I've got a Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. Then Ashley and Chris came into the room with "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz blasting on the speakers. The room erupted!

We danced them for a couple of minutes. Then I played the first dance."Roll With It" by Easton Corbin. I proceeded to get the rest of the crowd to dance by playing "FireBall" by Pitbull. The dance floor was packed! I could see we were in for a good time.

After that I sat everyone down and did the toast. The entire bridal party and the dads all got up to speak. Lots of great stories and some touching moments.

Then I invited Jessica, the brides sister to do the blessing.

During dinner, I played some light vocals, mid tempo pop as well as some standards and country.

Once dinner was finished, Ashley and Chris thanked everyone for coming to the event. I immediately played the father daughter and mother son dances. They were "My Little Girl" and "My wish".

Next I was asked to do a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" game. It is the traditional game but with a twist. It went over great!

As soon as that was over, I heated up the dance floor with some Top 40 music. I kept it fairly current the entire evening. I also played some Country, Disco, Motown and Oldies for good measure. It was a well balanced mix.

Towards the end of the evening, I did the garter and bouquet toss. I played "Put a Ring on it" by Beyonce' and "Sexy Back" by J.T.

The cake was cut using "Can't Help Myself" by the Four Tops.

We then proceeded to dance for the rest of the evening.

It was truly a memorable evening!
