On Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 I played for a destination wedding at the world famous Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada. The bride (Abbey) was from England and the groom (Kyle) was from the U.S. The evening started with a ceremony on the beach performed by owner/operator Mr. Paul Bates. The bridal party walked to Canon in D" by the O'neill Brothers and Abby was escorted to the beach by her father to "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles. The recessional music was "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel K. During the cocktail hour I played a mix of reggae, adult contemporary, and British classics. After a delicious buffet, prepared by chef Peter, a variety of toasts and speeches were given in honor of the bride & groom. Some of which were very special since Kyle just finished a tour of duty in Iraq. Abbey and Kyle danced to UB40's "Can't Help Falling in Love" for their first dance. Then Abbey danced with her father to a Tom Jones classic "It's Not Unusual" and Kyle danced with his mother to "What A Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong. Then the party got rolling with a mix of the latest clubs hits, Motown, and a few classics from the 80's. Two songs that were special requests were "The Time Warp" and "Come On Eileen". Everyone was on the dance floor sing these Toonz! Later Abbey tossed her bouquet to "All The Single Ladies" and the couple cut their wedding cake to "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor. The party went 2 hours overtime and I ended the evening with "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. When I was packing up to leave the entire bridal party and friends were in the pool having a great time. Thank you Abbey & Kyle, I sincerely enjoyed being a part of you special day......DJ/MC Eddie B!
