On Friday May 20th, 2011 I had the pleasure of playing for Karen and Andy Glade and 45 guests from New Jersey at the world famous Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada, the Florida Keys. Bob Lyons provided steel drum music for the ceremony and cocktail hour and I continued with the 4 hour reception. We started with an introduction to dinner of the bridal party playing "Beautiful Day" by U2, and for the newlyweds it was a 70's classic "More Today Than Yesterday" by the Spiral Staircase. A toast was presented by Andy's son Alex after dinner, and then I invited everyone to the beach for the first dance which was "Ribbons In The Sky" by Stevie Wonder. Just as I started the song a fireworks extravaganza lit up the beach and bay! What a surprise, no one knew about this, the guests were all wide eyed and cheering as Karen and Andy danced to a classic love song. Karen then danced with her father in law Mr. Marvin Glade, and Andy danced with Aunt Brenda to "Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong. Then Andy danced with his mother Connie, to "Times Of Your Life" by Paul Anka. The music format included tunes from Van Morrison, Frank Sinatra, The Temptations, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, Barry White, Usher, Beyonce, Train, Flo-Rida, Bob Seger, Jennifer Lopez, and the Jackson 5. L:ater I played "Love Is In the Air' by John Paul Young for the cake cutting and the final song of the evening was "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. I also had the pleasure of working with Magda Bates the in-house photographer and Martin Reinhardt from Reinhardt video productions, along with chef Peter and the First Class staff at the Coconut Cove Resort. Andy and Karen are honeymooning in St. Martin, I wish them all the best life has to offer......truly a fun group to play for.....DJ/MC Eddie B
