On Friday, July 8th, 2011 I played for a destination wedding at The Coconut Cove Resort / Islamorada for Lori and Matt Morford and 50 friends & family memebers from Kansas. The evening started out with a ceremony on the beach performed by owner/operator Mr. Paul Bates. The bridal party walked to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and for Lori she was escorted to the beach by her father, to "I Can't Wait" by Runner Runner. For the sand ceremony I played "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazak, and the recessional was "Celebration" by Kool & The Gang!  After a 90 minute cocktail reception in which all the guests enjoyed tropical music, I introduced the newlyweds to the "Theme From Rocky". After a delicious buffet, (prepared & presented by chef Peter and staff), and a few toasts, I invited everyone to the beach for the surprise first dance. This is a specialty of The Coconut Cove Resort, I announce the first dance which was "When You Got A Good Thing" by Lady Antebellum and during the entire song fireworks illuminate the sky over the bay above the bride and groom.....Totally AWESOME! Once everyone came back to earth, I presented the parents dances which were "It Won't Be Like This For Long" by Darius Rucker for Lori and her father Jeff, and "Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong for Matt and his mother Tina. Then we got down to some serious dancing as I played a variety of tunes from the 60's to the present day. A note of interest, I was amazed at how many of the guests were Parrot Heads, they loved their Jimmy Buffet music. Lori and Matt cut their cake to "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz and Lori tossed her bouquet to "Ladies Night" by Kool & The Gang, while Matt tossed the garter to Girls, Girls, Girls by Motley Crue. This group of festive partiers from the midwest even kept me an extra hour and we ended the night with "Fins & Volcano" by Jimmy Buffet and finally "Forever" by Chris Brown. Then as I was packing up to leave almost everyone jumped in the pool fully clothed and kept celebrating. Thank you Lori and Matt I enjoyed being a part of your special day.....DJ/MC Eddie B!
