On Monday, September 26th, 2011 I played for another destination wedding at the Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada. The couple, Melanie and Bernard Hayes and 54 family members and friends mad the trip to paradise in the Florida Keys. Although the evening started off with a rain shower just before the ceremony which was performed by their priest father John Vaughn, everyone was in an up-beat festive mood. For the processional I played "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis and Melanie walked to the traditional Bridal March (steel drum version). After a complete Catholic mass and communion, they sealed their vows with a kiss and celebrated to "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles. During the cocktail reception it was a variety of reggae, steel drum, and tropical tunes that had everyone singing along or tapping their toes. After a delicious dinner buffet prepared & presented by chef Peter & staff, it was time for a few toasts and some family laughs. Then I invited everyone to the Tiki Hut dance floor where Melanie & Bernard danced their first dance as husband and wife to "Baby I Love Your Way" by Mountain. From there on it was everything from AC/DC, The Romantics, Abba, The Bee Gees, Dropkick Murphys, B.E.P., Flo-Rida, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Clash, The Commodores, B-52's, Wild Cherry, and many more. Variety was the key for this group! They cut their wedding cake to the Star Wars Theme, and for the final song of the evening I played "You're My Best Friend by Queen. After I said goodnight the celebration continued with a friend providing the music with his guitar and sing-a-long tunes. Congrats and thank you to Melanie and Bernard for making me a part of your special day....DJ/MC Eddie B
