On Saturday, October 20th, 2012 I was at the Conch Key Cottages in Conch Key at mile marker 62. This is my first trip to this small piece of paradise and I was impressed! You can't see this venue from the highway, but once you arrive the first thing you notice are the Keys style cottages arranged like a small village. Over looking the ocean the ceremony was performed on the beach and Jillian & Chris along with eighty friends and family members exchanged their vows. I played "Canon in D" by the O'Neil Brothers for the bridal party and Jillian walked to "One Love" by Bob Marley. After they were pronounced husband and wife I set the tone for the rest of the evening with "Party Rock Anthem" for the recessional. The guests were then invited over to a huge white linen tent that was decored with small white tivoli lights and I added some LED dance floor lights. For the cocktail reception I kept the music tropical as everyone enjoyed the frozen drink machines with rum runners and pina coladas. I introduced the bridal party to "I Gotta Feeling" and the energy was sky high! Jillian and Chris chose "Always On My Mind" by Michael Buble for their first dance, which was followed by a combined father/daughter and mother/son dance to "What A Wonderful World". As dinner was being served the sun was setting so I mixed into "Sunset Grill" by Don Henley while the guests were taking advantage of this perfect photo moment. The dancing started about 8 PM and never stopped until midnight as this group of festive party goers loved to party. I started with some classic rock, and then mixed into todays club hits, and for the last 2 hours it was all retro "Booty & Dance music" from the 80's and 90's. Everyone song I played, they sang along and all the guests from every age group were out on the dance floor shaking what their mama's gave them! The cake was cut to "Another One Bites The Dust". We ended the night with another classic by Michael Buble "Save The Last Dance For Me". I want to thank Christine and Nate for all their help and effort they provided, along with the hospitality I received. Thank you Jillian & Chris, I loved playing for you and your guests......DJ/MC Eddie B!
