Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the Wedding Blog. On Saturday I had the pleasure of hosting the wedding and reception of Tony and Chelsea. It was held at the Coral Gables Woman's Club. A very historic venue in the heart of Coral Gables.
As the guests arrived for the ceremony, I was asked to keep it very traditional.
I played classical music from the greats... Bach, Wagner, etc.
The bridal party walked down the aisle to Pachabel "Canon in D". Then Chelsea entered with the traditional "Here Comes The Bride" by Wagner.
They also did a sand ceremony and then the exit song was played... "Adante' from Divertimento" by Mozart.
The cocktail hour was held in the main dining room. It was decorated beautifully and accented with fuchsia LED up lights provided by Eddie B & Company. I played some classic rock, jazz, and some light vocals, as Tony and Chelsea requested.
After the cocktail hour, I lined the bridal party up and introduced them into the dining room. I was asked to use"Nothin' but a good time" by Poison. Then Chelsea and Tony entered with "Young Forever" by High Valley.
I proceeded to ask them to go into the first dance "Don't wanna miss a thing" by Aerosmith. It worked perfectly. I played another slow song for the rest of the guests and then asked everyone to be seated. The champagne was poured and it was time to say a few words. First, Mark, the bride's father welcomed everyone to the party and said how happy he was for his daughter. He also praised his new son in law as being a great guy and wished them nothing but the best.. Then I invited Adriana, the Maid of Honor to say a few words. I then asked Erik the best man to speak. Very touching and lots of fond memories..
During dinner I played some oldies, classic rock, and Indie rock as requested by the bride and groom.
Once dinner was over, I asked Chelsea and her dad to dance their special song. "House on Pooh corner" by Loggins and Messina was used. I then asked Tony to escort his mom out to dance. They used "You'll be in my heart" by Phil Collins. By this time everyone was ripe to get out and party, so that is exactly what they did! I played a lot of 70's 80's and top 40 as requested by Tony and Chelsea. They are old souls and really loved the old tunes. It allowed all of the generations to get out and dance at the same time. In fact, the dance floor was packed all night long!!!!
